Open letter from the originator of the " Is it time to end the "Dance"? " thread

Hello and thank you Ravens fans. I’m just returning from my self-imposed two week ban from posting in this forum. During this self-imposed ban I have come to realized the magnitude of my error in judgment. As an official card carry member of the purple nation (really I have a card), I should have never posed the question of whether or not Ray’s dance should end. I now classify this as the biggest mistake I have made in my many many years of existence. I want to take this time to official apology to the purple nation for any discomfort anyone may have experienced from my appalling post. I ask for forgiveness. I would like to be reinstated as a full member of the purple nation. I know I must earn this position and will work to do so. I was thinking that one way I could regain the respect of the nation is to travel to Pittsburg again this year. However, this time I will not only wave the Ray Lewis jersey…no that’s not enough…this time I will burn one of those stupid yellow towels in the middle of downtown Pittsburg. I may not come home alive, but if this is what I need to do to regain the respect of my peers then I will do it. I do have a family, so if I don’t make it back I would appreciate it if the nation could pitch in and help take care of my family.

Long live the Ray Lewis dance!!!

Welcome back. You are forgiven so long as you don't say anything else dumb. But hey, we've all made mistakes. And please do wreak havoc in Pittsburgh. That'd be fantastic.

Ray's famous dance came from his mother (watch the Ravens Superbowl Video when Rays at his moms house and he and she talk about the dance)

Ray Lewis just answered this question in the presser. A friend from his neighborhood did the dance called "the squirrel" and he decided to do it once.

Wasn't the 1st time Ray did the dance was at the Super Bowl? I believe it was one of his childhood friends who used to do it and Ray wanted to pay homage to his friends.

No, Ray has mentioned it was his friend growing up (like another poster stated) but there is also a video where he says he learned to acne from his mother.

Actually Ray used to be part of a Break dancing/Dance crew. Ray has said he has footage of him when he was kid dancing but it will never see the light of day and i think it has the same dance or something like it that the current one originated from.

That's what I've heard him say. Can't find the video. :o He said that the aerobic and balancing moves helped him become a better football player.
