I just caught this, now I know there's nothing besides www.ProFootballTalk.com to confirm this, but if its true then who do you think is going to be added to replace him?
Stupid move unless you already have a backup lined up to be on the team..

I think he was a solid 3rd string back.
I don't think we needed him...there are probably other 3rd string QB's out there, but Mark Clayton can play quarterback, as can Sam Koch.

The way we've protected Joe Flacco the past couple of games, i don't think we need one. :)

Most teams only carry 2 qb's anyway. I guess they feel confident in Troy Smith. It could actually be a good thing bcuz that means we're adding another position to the lineup...where's Joe Horn when u need him? Peerless Price and Terry Glenn are still available....Ty Law and Deltha O'Neal are still available...Maybe Chris McAlister is getting ready to hit the IR?

I think so, I heard coach say he wasen't playing this week.. In a way I feel it would be in Cmacs best interest.. So hes healthy for the 09 season.. if he's still here..which im pretty confident he will be.. am I the only one tho.. that just gets the feeling he hasent established a proper relationship with coach just yet?

C'Mac and Harb don't see eye to eye which is why I think there's a good chance he's not gonna be around next year same for Rolle. This is the 2nd straight year our CB depth has significantly impacted us. Derrek Martin went down, C'Mac, Landry, Rolle. I don't think we can afford to keep around these older Corner backs anymore. I'd hate to see Mac go but hey if it makes our team better...

I want know why Deltha O'Neal is still a Free Agent

I wonder why we haven't attempted to sign a veteran CB yet. I know that the guys left out there are way past their prime, like Ty Law and O'Neal, but you would have to think it can't hurt to have a veteran guy back there, because he might not be quite as physically in shape as, say, Anwar Phillips or Corey Ivy, but a guy like Ty Law has the mental aspects of the game down. I don't think it would hurt to sign a guy like that.

I know Coach has a ST background but wasn't he the Eagles' secondary coach last season? Maybe he is seeing something that Cmac is doing and he think he can better his game and Cmac doesn't like that or maybe it's just his attitude. I would really like to know what is really going on becasue for the past few weeks I have had that same feeling as you ravengirlx88.

I get the feeling that "the team" thinks C-Mac needs knee surgery but he feels good enough to play.

We still got that Bramlet kid on PS, so if we need a third QB we can always promote him. My guess is we are about to sign another CB, if this actually did happen.

Kinda scary. With Flacco and Troy in at multiple packages, what happens if one of them is hurt? Any ideas?

I agree that CMac has not adapted to the Harbs campaign and Harbs is not going to play him until CMac comes around, which I am not sure he will do. Maybe it is time to part ways with CMac. If Ray is on board with Harbs, which he apparently is, then I think ALL players should be on board. New coach, new legacy.

Ha. That's funny you say something about bringing in a Veteran WR. On my Madden 09 Ravens Franchise, I signed Peerless Price from the FA pool. It did some good too. Plus I thought he would actually look good in a Ravens uniform in real life. Than I finished my franchise first season as 10-6 and a wild card division winner and than in the draft I drafted a WR(which I did that to make the game more real.) I don't know whats going on with C-Mac but the way it looks he will be either traded or released from his contract. I think John and Ozzie both know the Ravens have a need at CB and that they are going to look at a top CB for the draft, and that the Ravens future does not include C-Mac. The Ravens already have to worry about dishing out money to Ray Terrell and Bart Scott. I'll give up C-Mac if I knew the Ravens were drafting a new young CB that could play just as well as C-Mac.

this might suck because we might not use the packages with both flacco and troy because we dont want to increase our chances of getting them injured.

There are always ways to get both in, like having the play go to the opposite side of the field from the other guy(decoy). But with that, the other guy must also get plays going his way too, just to keep the opposition honest. As far as the risk of injury, every play has the potential to end with an injury. The real question here should be, do the rewards outweigh the risks? Cam obviously thinks so on multiple occasions.

I wish. But we cut him a few weeks ago. Possibly we can pick him up again, because he is still available.

C-Mac is GONE!! He screwed the team over by not getting the Surgery on his knee done last year, and didn't even rehabilitate it in the off-season! Next year we can save 8 Million dollars against the cap by cutting him, and I'm sure they will, probably using the money to sign a Team Player to play Corner! Aso??

If that happens I would be very happy, replacing C-Mac with Aso would be a definite upgrade. The only question I have would be will we have the cap room to re-sign Suggs, Lewis, and Aso (assuming we cut Scott loose)? And then still have the room to try and pick up some offensive weapons (either through FA or the draft)?

Well, Aso's contract, if a long term deal, which its sure to be.... will be cheaper in the first few years. So even if its in the 7 yr 70 mil range, he will get 20ish million bonus, then 5-6million the first few years, going up as time goes on. So Aso will come cheaper (at least a year or two) then C-mac next year more then likely. So we would just be replacing C-mac Cap with Aso, not taking any more room up, if anything else maybe giving us a tad bit more cap for next year. Not to mention the on-field upgrade

And yes, simms was picked up, oh well, we will hope nothing happens to our #1 and 2 guys I guess

Scott is gone. We cant keep Suggs, Lewis and bring in Aso without abandoning the offense more then we need to. We've still got Jason Brown going up for free agency. We will need to invest in either keeping Boller or bringing in a proven backup QB. And we also need to get a WR and some depth at TE.
