Cedric Benson

We lack a power rusher next to ray. Allen was a disapointment in preseason1. Berry didnt look any better. Rainey looked great, but only vs. 3rd stringers.

Cedric is out of work, and I heard he cried being out of job in radio. We could use a veteran presense that understands how AFCN football is played.

We can grab him for 1mill vet minimum probably. Is this a viable option?

As of now Rainey looks to me (from the little I've seen) like Rice 2.0 . I think the complementary back term is a little over rated. If I could have Rice in on every play I would, but players don't hold up for long that way. Rainey could be a good back for us. Yea... I know I may be jumping the gun, but with the given sample size... He looks good!

We can't carry four running backs. From a talent perspective I say yes, but who is going to go? Rice is obvious, Pierce is a probably, and if Rainey keeps impressing it would be hard to let him go.

I want to see bernard pierce get some rushes before i even think about us signing benson. Pierce was drafted for a reason, the coaches saw something they liked with him and I want to at least see him in a preseason game or two. Also, i like bobby rainey because he can catch the ball too. Anthony allen's hands are a little suspect and thats not good since we ask our backs to do everything. I can definitely see pierce (if he doesn't disappoint when he finally gets reps) and rainey being the second and third backs to make the roster

No. We're fine at running back. Berry looked alright. Rainey looked great. Pierce will be back soon, hopefully. We don't need Benson. He's washed up anyway.

2 ray rices is better than 1 ray rice. Check the math.

That's not necessarily a winning combination. The strength of a running back group lies in versatility. Despite what the Cam Cameron school of offense has led you to believe, you can't keep going with Plan A all game even when the defense adjusts. Pierce is supposed to have a different running style, which is why he stays. Rainey stays to develop and to possibly return. He'll be used sparingly if RIce remains healthy, but if he continues to flash talent you can't let him go.

Better hurry cause San Diego is in market for a runningback too after their Self-heralded glass RB broke again.

Pierce cost us a 3rd round pick in the draft, which is why he stays.

But I agree with what youre saying.

Pierce is a very talented RB, which is why he stays.

With the way Vonta Leach played, he could be that late in the game bruise back. Because I have us carrying 7 WRs, I think our RB corporation is 3 RBs and Leach.

As Rayvenfan20 said, several league sources are reporting Benson is in Green Bay and expected to sign with them

It is very worrisome that our 2 best backs behind Rice are Allen ( not doing well in camp/ preseason) and Bernard ( injured)

Well, Bobby Rainey is in the lead for two. While I'm impressed with Rainey, I remember that Cory Ross (or whatever his name was) looked good in camp years ago.

I still like the kid. Just get our OL together and we're cool with Pierce and Rainey pairing with Rice and Leach.

No need in signing an overpriced RB that no one else wants and then going through this again next year. Save that cap space and go with the kids.

Only ONE preseason game and you say Allen is a disappointment? Why don't you wait until the END of pre-season before you make that assessment. *rolling eyes*

So Benson is probably going to Green Bay.. Let them have him.

It's been reported that Allen hasn't been doing very well in training camp practices either.

All I am saying is don't write him off until you absolutely have to.

Cedric Benson is definitely not the answer, besides he is going to GB...good luck with that. He is the epitome of average, and he likes to fumble.

Don't think so. It looks like he's in Green Bay getting ready to sign with them.

That a bit unfortunate. He had 5th straight rushing yards w/ +1000rush yds. His a work horse and definately have alot of power. Wouldve been worth a vet.minimum

Maybe we will find a gem when other teams start releasing players?
