Quarterback situation behind Joe Flacco

Painter is much better suited to out offensive style then Taylor is .

I'm not saying he's a better QB but he is a better fit for our team.Sorry Tyrod.

I still like tyrod all though he did stink up the joint the other night. Good Lord he looked horrible. He's better than that showing.

I like Tyrod at #2 but he didn't help himself vs the Lions. He made some nice plays with his feet, but 95% of his passes were high. Fortunately for Tyrod painter didn't have a stellar night like he did vs the Falcons.

Without a doubt, Taylor will be Number 2.

Im sorry but Painter is not a good QB, he is not on Taylor's Level

Taylor is very Elusive and always keeps plays alive. He never had a chance to throw the ball in preseason game 2, the o line collapse as soon as the ball was snapped. Taylor tried, he stayed behind the line of scrimmage as long as he could, then he ran for a first down.

I thought he did pretty well considering the O LINE couldn't hold the defenders at all, Taylor made something out of nothing on almost every play.

Dude is Vick 2.0, he even throws like him, more of a wrist thrower.

Watching Flacco the last few seasons, then the other quarterbacks they've had before Flacco and backing up Flacco the years since he's been here ... (Except Bulger. Never got to see him.) I am so very thankful the Ravens have Flacco.

But I do believe if Painter had got more playing time than 4 and a half minutes against the Lions -- I still believe the Ravens would have won the game.

I am certainly praying that I don't have to see Tyrod more than 4 minutes against Jacksonville.

He is nothing close to the level of player that Vick is. And I don't think Vick is even a good QB.

Taylor has looked terrible so far throwing the ball and I don't think we can blame it on the receivers because all anyone says is how deep we are at WR.

That said, Joe has never missed a snap due to injury and I would hate to waste a roster spot on another QB. We trusted the sole backup job to Taylor las year and I see no reason to stitch it up this year and carry three. I think the hints at using Taylor more in a wildcat type role are just coach speak. They won't do anything like that so having a 3rd QB in case Taylor gets hurts playing WR doesn't apply.

Obviously Taylor is a better QB than he showed the other night or the Raven would never have kept him. But I agree that he is not on the level of Vick. If he has another game like the last one he may join the ex-players list.

I like Painter because he is more Flacco like than Tyrod.
That would be my reason for keeping Painter . I think he would fit into
the offensive scheme better the Taylor. I don't know if he's a better QB.
I think Painter is a more accurate passer .

To be fair, our 2nd string o-line isn't exactly the best group of backups at this moment and they weren't giving Tyrod a lot of help. That said, he overthrew a LOT of receivers Friday night. Painter has looked better in both preseason games and has a lot more game experience than Tyrod. I think its very likely we keep all 3 guys due to that fact.

I don't think Vick is a great QB but he is good, you can't deny that.

Taylor is no slouch, His pocket awareness is uncanny and you can't teach that, he isn't the most Accurate but if Flacco were to go down ( bite my tongue , knock on wood 10 fold ). I have full confidence in Taylor and i think he would be able to keep us in the hunt. If we were to keep Painter and he were to go in, All Hope Is GONE.

No, if you were talking about Tebow, i would agree. Great Athlete but atleast Vick can throw the Football to a certain extent.

Man, i can't stand Tebow, he gets way too much attention and the Media thinks Fans of the nfl want to hear about Tebow. We Don't, they just keep stuffing it down our Throats, cough' Skip Bayless ' cough' cough.

One thing is certain. Joes job is pretty secure. I see neither Painter nor Tyrod really having much starter potential.
I really don't even know why we have Painter, must be a favor from J.Caldwell. I think Tyrod is pretty locked in for the number 2 spot.

There are rumors running around that we may keep three QB's on the roster , so both
Taylor and Painter may make the team

Lord I hope not...that would be such a waste of a roster spot to have TWO less than mediocre backups on the squad.

I would be upset if that happened. With the state of our o-line, the depth of the receiving corps, the lack of a true blocking tight end, the need for pass rushers since Sizzle is out, the always needy secondary, etc. there are just too many other good players I could justify keeping over a 3rd quarterback. Besides, Joe is older and more experienced than either Tyrod or Curtis - it's not like a Marc Bulger situation where Joe could learn something from one of these guys.

Painter looked good against 3rd stringers. Remember last year how he looked against 1st stringers? Dan "I ran out of the back of the end zone" Orlovsky actually took over for him because he couldnt cut it.
