When To Let The Other System Go....

8 posts in this topic

So I grew up a Playstation player (PS1 & 2)and always bought both Madden and NCAA. Then I ended up getting an XBox 360 as a redeployment gift and so I became an Xbox guy (I guess lol). Well, most of my friends had PS3 and I rarely was able to play them online. I eventually bought a PS3 (about a year ago) and now my 360 sits idle for the most part. When I wanna watch a movie or play Madden on it I'll use it but I am simply not using it like I used to. When or how did you guys decide to let your "other" system go? I mean I could keep it but then I'd still buy games for it like I do now and rarely play them. I ended up with Madden for both systems, COD Black Ops for both and a few other games. Just a random thought I wondered how everyone else dealt with it. I do have other systems I keep for sentimental reasons I suppose - Ninentendo, Xbox, Genesis. What to do lol? I'd be interested to hear anyone's thoughts and what they did.

Well, like you i grew up a Playstation player. I got an original xbox as a gift. I never really played it. When i moved out of my parents house, i bought a 360. I left my playstation 2 for my brother, and basically never looked back.

Its weird though. I got a PS3 as a gift about a year ago. And i don't play it, i use it for the occasional blue-ray, and netflix a little. Thats about it lol

My PS3 is mainly used to watch netflix. I bought a xbox but returned it for a refund because it was redlight... I got my PS3 off ebay cheap. The PS3 has better graphics and is free online, main reason I like mine over xbox. I haven't played my PS3 in months, when Madden 2013 comes out that will change I will probably be on that game all night... and be dragging everyday for about a week.

Same here...got mine off Craigslist from a guy who was going back to CPU gaming. I also got tired of the Xbox Live stuff since I had no one to really play and I had to pay $50 bucks for a subscription. SMH.

NEVER LET ANYTHING GO!! HOARD ALL THE VIDEO GAMES!

Ditto. I keep in the basement a duffle bag every system and game I ever owned. Therefore if I ever want to reconnect to my childhood, they'll be there.

But its easy to let an old system go.
Step 1: Buy new system
Step 2: Put old storage in Storage
Step 3: Call it a day
