Disappointed In Myself :(

10 posts in this topic

Yeahh, I play for my School William Penn High in Delaware and in Practice after school i threw 5 INTs out of 9 pass's.
THEN when we practiced playing the option in scrimmage, i got sacked twice and fumbled once.
wait, there's more that made my coach sick. I threw 14 pass's in scrimmage and only 3 were completions.

UGHH! dude i think im gonna get benched, he said he was disappointed in me and thought i was playing like Donovan Mcnabb. (Everyone in Delaware are eagle's fan's but our coach hates the eagles,he is a steeler's fan)

im no cry baby but after that i got upset. i am never that bad, honestly. usually im a beast (no brag) i pulled a T.O during practice :o

morale support anyone? lol

(and yes it's still bothering me, although it happened way earlier im just now posting about it cause it just now entered into my mind again)

Eh, you'll be alright.

Isn't William Penn the #1-ranked team in the Blue Hen Flight A conference anyway?

I went to high school at Glasgow, and still live in Newark (college at UD), so I still somewhat keep tabs (even though I don't miss high school at all, compared to college...lol).

One of my best friends' cousins plays for Glasgow right now as a backup D-lineman, and I have a "cousin" who's a senior at William Penn right now, too (I just call her that, 'cause I grew up with her and her sisters).

The full rankings (for us) for flight A are
Massey: 1
Schedule: 2
Offense: 4
Defense: 1
Power: 1

but yeah. We're 6-2

i still think i was playing like a joke though.

Well, that's what practice is for. You work out the kinks, and hope for the best.

You guys already have a tough game as-is tomorrow against St. Mark's, so the least of your worries should be the INTs you threw in practice. Don't worry about losing your job, just go out there and perform and everything you did in practice won't matter anymore.

Just as players are supposed to have short-term memory, so are coaches.

Worry about this game first. Then, you'll see where you stand about your job and playing time.

Besides, like Joe Flacco always says, "It's just football. It's fun." ;)

I know! St.Mark's are good. But as our coach always say's "Not good enough.."
Your right i need to get my head out of the clouds and worry about the game instead of blowing it like i did the first 2 game's we played in the season.

we lossed 21-13
then next game 21-0

:/

The main thing you have to remember is, high school defenses aren't that good. They might have one or two playmakers, but as a unit, they'll get easily confused.

All you have to do is play fundamental football, and eventually, someone will get cocky and try to make a play on the ball and miss, and that'll be your big break.

Besides, in those two losses, even if you think you cost your team the game, it's still a TEAM effort. If one part of the team can't execute, the rest has to step up. So unless your team doesn't have your back because they're selfish (or you're selfish), you need to recognize that they're there to pick you up when you fall. When you lose, they lose, too.

No. Im definately not selfish. I know at times i can be but on the field, never.
I see my teammates as a family. Although we may make mistakes and argue or disagree at times, we still know we are family and must forgive each other and move on.

Thats why we broke that 2-game losing streak and turn it into a winning streak. :)

Dont feel bad, I have those days too
Especially after our JV season was over and we had two weeks of practice to basically be hitting dummys for practice. Usually i catch 90% of passes but I just didnt seem to care those last two weeks and couldnt get the drive going so i dropped a lot in reciever drills.

It made me mad, Specially hitches...
The cursed pass route, I can catch other routes but I cant catch a hitch, ive made it to where my coach knows not to put me in on a hitch cause....Idk i just cnat catch them.
They are probobly also the easiest route to catch too >.>....Im weird.
