Franchise Mode

19 posts in this topic

On Madden '09 i just started playing Franchise mode for the first time as the Ravens.
Im in season 2. First season we went 11-6, won AFC divison and went to the superbowl to face the Redskins but lost 24-17 :( So far in my second season we are 6-4. Third in our division. Bengals are first >.< Steelers second, browns last (xD) i dont think i'll go all the way this season, fricken Steelers are 8-2 and so are the Bengal's, Browns are 3-7. Flacco is doing terrible, I let boller play and he only allowed 2 INTs so far. (Flacco has 7 INTs & he only played 4 games.)

Anyway anybody else in Franchise mode like to give some advice or share what's going on in their Franchise?

Cut down on the turnovers lol, No you just have to be set in order to throw with Joe. He doesnt throw well on the run in the game. I dont play a franchise with the regular ravens team, I draft when I do it.

I play with the ravens online though, and They have a manageable offense if you can set before you throw, and get a running game started, that way you can PA pass and everything better

Ahhhh! that would explain all those darn interceptions! :D
i ALWAYS run and throw with him, lmao.

Boller is a pretty good run and gun. in the game atleast.

McGahee is tearin' up the D on every team we face. So the rush isnt something i worry about to much. Probably because thats what i love to do as a Madden Player. Passing is another good asset of mine but with flacco i do crappy. Now i know why, thanks.

alot of people like to get out of the pocket with their QB to make plays. but you would be surprised to see how much easier it is to do it staying in the pocket. all it takes is some practice and some discipline...

Yeah, usually i'll run a few yards away from the o-line then stop and throw to an open reciever (most of the time, the opposing team's D will get distracted and i'll draw them closer to me and they'll leave a wide open reciever, then next thing ya know, a big play. :D

I know how that is...... playing online a big play the other way is very bad..... I'm trying to cut down on my stupid throw, been using the Jags, and you can put their injured OL back in, and theyre a beast team, and the defense is decent. Garrard is very accurate btw

Yeah. I know.

Well i knew garrard had some power on his throws but never really paid attention to his accuracy.
Maybe because i dont use the jag's often.

But when i start another franchise with the ravens i'll do a draft.

I'll make sure to try and get a top QB first then garrard as a back-up.
that is if i get lucky enough to snag one.
Usually i get all the sucky players on my team when i do franchise mode, draft style.

you have to do it a couple times, because sometimes you'll forget a certain posistion and they will all go, so just pay attention and do it a couple times. Build your team for how you like to play

I'll make sure to do that.
Im more of a "down the field passer" and "power runner".
So i try and get rb's like Maurice Jones-Drew (One thing i like about the Jags)
Or QB's like brett favre. He is big on going deep when it comes to passing (most of the time anyway)

Yeah, I run more of a west coast. Focus on the curls, slants, short routes. Also I like a rb who can catch out of the backfield and is fast, MJD, Peterson, Westbrook, etc. My defense I like having at least 1 good corner and fast corners for the #2 and 3. A good mlb is a must as well (Patrick Willis is a BEAST)

I know! a few days ago i played as the 49ers against vikings and beat the crap out of 'em 41-6.
Willis had 4 sacks, 11 tackles and 1 INT. I think he may be better than Ray-Ray playing wise in the game.

You know who isnt that great though at MLB in '09. Derrick Brooks. His Ratings dropped.
i thought he did good last year but just my opinion.

I am going to join in on the Franchise talk. When I play franchise, I take it seriously, especially the draft. If I want to draft a CB or WR or any other need that the team needs and they are going to be in the top 10 I would move up in the draft to get them. I am playing a Ravens franchise and I am in my second year. I had a pretty good off-season and draft, in the FA I picked up Lance Moore, Antonio Bryant. In the draft I picked a CB(who is a 74), MLB( he is a 77), ROLB(who turned out to be only a 59) and a Center who is a 65. I picked up two WRs because Mason retired and Marcus Smith retired because of an injury. I have noticed something though, and talking about realism in the game but I can not beat the Colts. In my first season, well everything played out like it did in the real game this year, I got smashed. I played them in the playoffs and lost by 5 points. In my second season, I was doing pretty good, led 21 to 6 at Half, and by the time the game was over I lost 24 to 32. Has that happened to anybody else, not just to the Colts but is there a team that no matter what you do, you can not beat that team?

you should just let joe flacco throw intermediate passes run the ball with good yardage and then do those good play action passes and you will play better with him in no time :D

What setting do you all play on? After playing every year madden for the past 6 years, it just becomes too easy.. I can only play online and against other players for a challenge.

I can't believe my Ravens Franchise froze on me. I just won the Super Bowl by beating the Eagles, went through the off-season and draft, had another wonderful off-season, great Draft. I went to simulate the pre-season, and it just froze on me. Now I am stuck and can't do a darn thing, every time i load it up it freezes on me while simulating pre-season. Is there anything I can do to play my franchise without having to delete it and start over?
