Right . I was quite skeptical of where season 2 was going. But it was great. The whole death and resurrection episodes I was also quite skeptical of but they managed to somehow pull that off. When does the new season start.

I think they're able to pull so much off because of how bizarre the show is in the first place.  It's meant to give lots of questions, but few answers, and I think that gives them the ability to do some off the wall stuff.

I think I saw early 2017 this go around, so we still have awhile.

Couldn't be more excited that Mr. Robot returns tonight.

Didn't it already come back on? According to Imdb part 1 aired on the 10th and tonight is part 2

Kind of, yeah.  Apparently that was an early release.  Tonight they're covering part 1 (first half hour) and part 2 for the full hour premiere.

Actually it looks like an hour and a half tonight.  I didn't watch it though.  They released it like 4 times of Sunday night and pulled them down right after they were finished airing.  Seeing it for the first time tonight.

Someone sell me on 24.  Never have watched and don't know anything about it.

I remember 24 when it first came out and it wasa cool fast paced concept.  I believe I watched two more seasons and I remember each getting more far fetched and unbelievable. Fwiw.

I watched an episode where one of the characters got on a plane to travel somewhere, and was back before the episode ended.  From that point on, I couldn't get into a show that is about a 24 hour event if the concept of time is completely out of whack.

Sounds like Varys and the Tyrells and Martels making it from Dorne to Mereen in one episode

I watched and loved every second of it - 8 seasons plus a movie. Sure it's far fetched but it's very good action and easy to watch.

Here are my thoughts on Mr. Robot from last night.  There's a theory inside, so don't read if you think that would ruin it.

First off, props to USA for giving us an hour and a half premiere with only 3 commercial breaks.  You can tell that they're giving this show free reign to do what it wants (judging by the number of F bombs dropped, too), and that's what has made FX so successful.

Whoever is picking out the soundtrack for this show is a genius, too.

I'll hit mostly on Elliott here, as it looks like we're going to need some time to delve into the other characters to see their motives.

So here's my theory: Elliott is in prison or some other sort of facility - everyone you see around him is either a figment of his imagination or someone he sees, just in a different light than what they actually are.  He follows a strict schedule, has no internet access, and documents everything in a journal.  He shares all of his meals at a certain time with Joey B/Leon, who might be another one of Elliott's personas (Sidenote: I hope Leon only really talks about Seinfeld for the rest of the season).  He is now in a more urban community, where he goes out to the yard everyday and watches the basketball game.  Darlene visits sometimes.  When he met with Gideon in his "house," he arrived to him sitting at a table, much like how prison visitation goes.  The doors to his room slide rather than the standard push/pull.

I could be wrong, but I see a heavy prison parallel.

Just finished episode 5. I thought with the flashback they were going to try to get me to like the vice regent, but I hate him even more now.

Yea, I brought this show up quite some time back, from what I remember no one else watched it.  I liked it, awesome concept, I think they could have done better though, but I will keep watching, season 2 will be back late this year.

Part 2 is slower, but it's more a stage setter, and there's nothing wrong with that to me.

There's quite a bit out on TV right now.

I watched the premiere of HBO's miniseries The Night Of last night, and I'm very intrigued by this one.  It's slow and methodical, but I've started to prefer dark dramas to anything else.  For those that haven't seen a preview, it's essentially a murder mystery that points directly to a suspect, yet you don't know if he really did it or not.  There's only been 1 episode so far, but I'm convinced it'll be a good one.

Mr. Robot is obviously top notch.

Ray Donovan has always been a little underrated, but I haven't been feeling this season so far.  It's still very early in the season though.

I watched a couple of episodes of Roadies and quickly dropped that.

I'm still hanging on by a thread with Preacher.  It might be good to some people but I just don't know if it's for me.

Ballers comes back on Sunday and that's a decent time filler, although I'm sure that'll be a full DVR for me.

Vice Principals with Danny McBride and Walton Goggins comes on Sunday as well, and I'm excited to see how that goes.

Im in on this one.

Ray Donovan has always been a little underrated, but I haven't been feeling this season so far.  It's still very early in the season though.  I think the reason its starting this way is because something big is going to happen, if you seen the last episode, I think it points into Ray making some decisions very soon that will be devastating.

I'm still hanging on by a thread with Preacher.  It might be good to some people but I just don't know if it's for me.  Can you elaborate what you think of it so far?  I watched the first episode and forgot about it.  But it just looks too comic bookish for me,

Vice Principals with Danny McBride and Walton Goggins comes on Sunday as well, and I'm excited to see how that goes.  and Bill Murray!

Have you watched The Night Manager?

On Ray Donovan, I would agree.  Something is coming.  I think they've spent a little too long cleaning up the story from last season, though.  I also wish they'd give Mickey something else to do.  I get that he's a criminal, but let him win for once or something lol.  I feel like his whole story arc is come up with a plan only to fail.

Preacher is alright to me.  It's definitely pretty comic-y.  I think the hard part is that everything has been so drawn out.  While there's a storyline in place, I feel like there's a lot of filler around it.  I'm not sure what I think of it.  I'll probably just ride the season out and see how it goes.

I have not watched The Night Manager yet.  It'll be on the dockets for the future, though.

But in a way Mickey has won in the past.  Him running his escort business, having the family on his side because of his lies with his health, im sure there is more.  I never really looked at Mickey as loosing, I just looked at it mostly as Ray hating him and no matter what Ray will make it worse.

It may just be that he keeps doing the same thing over and over again - just a different crime.  Does crime, gets in trouble, Ray gets him out of it, he leaves, he finds his way back.  I think they just need to do something a little different with him.

Yea I can agree there.  But isn't that the kind or premise he is based on, just being a screw up...I couldn't really see him succeeding in any of his schemes.

It's like E.T./Goonies meets Akira. It's so good. The soundtrack is amazing.
