JDM as Negan is honestly the only reason I'm watching the show at this point. The end scene of that episode has to be the most cheezy feel good scene of the entire series. I was actually laughing when they all started walking in the same direction like they were the avengers.

Me too. Like, who actually walks like that - all spread out and waking alone essentially?

The director just decided to double down on the cheese after the bro reunion.

The Walking Dead really needs to give something positive tonight, because there's been nothing positive since the premiere.

There are so many storylines and every single one of them has advanced so little or even not at all over the last 7 episodes.  They keep trying to give you full episodes and "character development" but none of them have worked.  No one cared about Tara and her story.  We've seen King Ezekiel once and they used a full episode on that.  We got a full episode of the Hilltop and nothing much came of that either.

It's weird to say, but the worst storyline by far this season has been what they're trying to do with Negan.  We get it.  He's a horrible guy.  Do we really need multiple episodes showing us the same thing over and over again?  As much as I liked Negan as a character in the premiere, they've done an awful job with him.  The writing and dialogue is downright painful at times.  I get that he's a peculiar guy, but no one talks like he does.  It may be something that works in the comics, but it certainly does not work on the screen.

And how many people are going to get a shot at Negan and pass it up?  All of this planning and there have been countless times to take him out and no one has done it.

Completely agree they ruined the Neegan storyline.  I was very excited to see what they do with him but his character hasn't progressed into anything.  Even after last nights episode I still question why I watch this show outside of the fact im 'pot' committed

I really question why I continue to watch this show sometimes.  7 episodes later and that's what we get?  Cool.  Negan killed some more people.  I'm so shocked.  It's quite crazy how little things have advanced since the premier.  It's not necessarily a bad episode, but we've gotten almost nowhere.

'Pot' committed man...

this show has become a joke.  Should of taken notes from Breaking Bad and not drug out the show so long. I wonder what kind of profits are being made off of it, I wouldn't even know how to check .

I think JDM has done a commendable job based on what he's been given.  It's what he's been given that's been the problem.  The dialogue is borderline laughable most of the time.  It just doesn't play on the screen.  I know it's based entirely off of a comic book, but his whole character is just too comic-booky.

Overall, I think this is a completely fine episode if we're 4 episodes in.  It's the fact that we had 7 episodes leading up to this and we've advanced ever so slightly beyond the premier.  They've wasted so many episodes on inconsequential characters.

Oh, JDM has done fine, like you said, its what hes asked to do.  Its like asking Boldin to run go routes or something.

that was 8 episodes to tell what? Neegan is bad and the group is going to war with The Saviors....jee, didn't see that coming.

In my time off these past couple of days, I finally binge watched Master of None, and it's such a great show.  I love Aziz Ansari so I figured it would be good, but it was beyond what I expected.  His chemistry with Noel Wells was off the charts.

In my sickness this weekend, I binged The OA.  I'm really not sure how I feel about it.  It's so far away from what I typically watch so I don't have much to compare it to other than Stranger Things, and even then, I didn't find it all that similar other than the overall mission.  There were some parts I really liked and some that I didn't.

I saw that and was intrigued, I usually give Netflix shows a chance, they know what their doing.

One I show I recently founded, Halt and Catch Fire, is pretty damn good in my opinion.  Has to do with a computer start up company in the early 80s going up against IBM, so you like that silicon valley stuff, not the show (Silicon Valley is a great show though)

Been watching Incorporated, very interesting concept and made by Affleck and Damon, about 5 episodes in.  Not bad so far

Homeland just came back on, this show has really gone down hill.   I'm still pot committed so will continue to be disappointed

Agreed on Homeland.  It hasn't been the same since they got rid of Brody, despite his awful family.  I thought season 4 was solid but not to the levels of 1 and 2, and season 5 was a disaster.  I'm not sure how I feel about this one so far but we're only 1 episode in.  However, it looks like another season of Carrie being out of the CIA.  That's often when they fail.  They need her running missions in the Middle East.  That's when the show is at it's best.

Yea, i would of been completely fine if they would of ended it after season 3, now its just getting drawn out.  Only thing that would get me excited is if somehow she turned in a terrorist or something and just went rogue, which wont happen.

I started Sneaky Pete the other night.  I'm only 2 episodes in but it seems like a fun show so far.  It's not top notch TV or anything, but a fun time killer.

I also caught the first episode of Taboo, and I'm not sure how I feel about it.  I'm a fan of Tom Hardy but I'm not a fan of period pieces.  I'll probably give it another episode.

Has anyone tried The Young Pope yet?  I've heard it's bordering on ridiculous, fun, drama, and a little bit of everything else too.  I may give an episode a shot but it's not typically my type of show.

Agreed.  The original concept of the show was great, but once that concept came to an end, they've tried to go in too many directions.  If they want to keep it going, just go back to its roots in the Middle East.  I couldn't have cared less about what was going on in Germany.  I do like the idea of the domestic terrorism plot line (considering the current state of the US), but I'm not confident in the execution.

Sneaky Pete is on my list

Taboo has me excited a bit...Hardy just plays that role amazingly, his back story is clearly going to be messed up

Has anyone watched The Pure yet, it seems kind of interesting.

Ive lost all faith int he execution of their plot lines about two seasons ago.  There is that new show coming out that looks pretty intense, i think its called 6 or something.

Bryan Cranston's monologue/story at the end of episode 4 in Sneaky Pete is probably going to give me nightmares.

I got a bunch of "Northern Exposure" DVD's for Christmas.  Just started watching them.  What a fantastic show that was.  Great acting, great characters, brilliant writing.

Try the second episode. I was questioning the first episode too, but the second one is what brought me in.

I made it two episode 5 last night, its still just blah to me and the E4 story Cranston told did absolutely nothing for me.  I thought the accent he used was very cheesy and the punch line didn't deliver any type of chills as I was hoping.  Its an ok show, I don't have anything else to really watch (Vikings, Homeland I guess, Taboo) so I guess this show can add to the list but when Billions or silicon Valley come back on, ill most likely cut it.

Definitely a "to each their own" type of show and I can see why some don't like it.  I wouldn't put it on any of my top lists, and as you said, if the TV was better right now, I might not be as into it.  It's been a fun time killer for me so far though.

GoT - June 25th

House of Cards - March 4th

@rmw10

Well I finished Sneaky Pete and I will say, the ending kind of made up for it, for me.  "Pete" pulls off some pretty interesting cons but man is he a crappy person.  Just when you think you know whats going on, you don't, which is kind of normal in these type of shows/movies.  Let me know when you finish it

I'm still at episode 4, but looking forward to seeing how it ends.  Not getting through shows near as quick as I used to lol

@usmccharles

I finally finished up Sneaky Pete.  I was actually quite surprised with how it ended, and that's a good thing.  There were some obvious plot holes and unrealistic actions, but that's why it's not necessarily in any of my top shows lists or anything.  I thought it was fun and I really liked how they wrapped everything up with the final episode.  My one big qualm is the showdown between Audrey and Winslow.  I thought they made Audrey a little too naive for that one.

Yea, it was a good show to kill time with but other than that, nothing too special.  I figured out what was going on pretty easily in the last hustle, so I thought, then it through me for a twist, so that surprised me, usually I can figure things out easily.

Catch Homeland?

Taboo is rather interesting.

Other than that I cant think of anything else to be watching, any suggestions?

I'm behind on everything else right now.  Hoping to hit Homeland and Taboo over the next few nights.  Just not enough hours in the day anymore lol
