First, let me make it clear that I’m a huge Ray Lewis fan. I’m so much a fan; I wore his jersey at the divisional playoff game two years ago in Pittsburg. That all said, I was wondering if anyone other than me was thinking it’s time for Ray to end the intro dance at home games. I have mixed feelings about it. Part of me love seeing Ray fire up the crowd every time he comes out of that tunnel. The other part of me thinks it’s time for him to pass the torch. Start giving the younger guys their turn to shine. The team motto this year is “Team”. Maybe it’s time to end the dance. I would love to hear some opinions from you guys (and girls). Should he end the dance???

What?!? You go out with a bang, with flair, with the things you love (the dance). Not whimper away.

Crap. Even after Ray retires, he can come out the tunnel anytime he wants just to fire up the fans. He doesn't even need to be playing. All the players have their 'thing' when coming out of the tunnel. There is no need to 'pass a torch'.

Harbaugh attempted to take it away in 2008 but the team (and fans) got so pumped from it that they brought it back.

If there was ever a time where it would stop, it would've been then. Ray will be dancing all the way to Canton.

I'm speechless. I really don't know how to respond. You honestly want Ray to retire his pre-game dance? I think it's illegal to even think about retiring the dance.

Fellas, I think we have a new contender for highest negged post. Lol.

Yes, I remember seeing an interview about this
Trying to find a link but couldn't find one

When Harbaugh started he wanted it to end and Lewis said he's respect the decision but first check the opinion of the team and I think the fans

The dance stayed

I voted keep dancing, why should he stop now. He only has 2 more yrs. Don't see the reason to stop now.

I must admit, I expect most people to vote keep the dance. Didn't think it would be this one sided. Trust me, I have no problem seeing Ray dancing as must as he wants. Just seeing were the Flock's mind was.

What does " The Dance " have to do with him passing the torch, for younger guys time to shine and the motto of " Team "? If anything, Ray Lewis is probably the most " Team " oriented person in the league and I know he would love for some of the younger guys to shine b/c if they are shining, that makes our chances of winning the SB a lot greater. Also, you don't get the tourch passed to you through words, its your play on the field that makes that happen. Just b/c someone verbally say they pass the torch to someone doesn't mean the torched is passed.

Ray Lewis needs to pass the torch? For what? Even at his age, he was still one of the better, if not best ILBs in the league in 2011. It's not as if he's found himself in a constant state of immense regression. And by the, "younger guys," I hope you're not referring the other players in our ILBs corps, all of whom had a chance to prove themselves alongside of him over the last few years. If those younger guys want the torch, they first need to prove that they can handle the fire.

Ray Lewis is the Ravens, and when he does the dance comin out of that tunnel you know its time for some smash mouth Ravens football, and when Harbs thought about cancelling the dance in 08, the players begged him to keep it
