John Clayton's observations

It's nice to see at least one person in the sports media that doesn't hate our Ravens.

Really good article, I'd have to agree with most if not all of what he said. It's nice to have someone who was actually at camp report on the Ravens instead of guys who just sit behind a desk and speak about what the think will happen.

I really like Clayton. I think he's a closet Ravens fan.

It's promising that literally everyone who has seen the Ravens practice has good things to say about Flacco and the passing offense.

Who in the sports media hates the Ravens? I've seen more Ravens coverage and love in the media in the past 3 years than ever with exception to the post super bowl year. Thats like saying the media hates the giants, 49ers, texans etc...perhaps they may be good teams that aren't as hyped as a team like the patriots. Maybe rooting for the home team you would like to c ur team get more respect but the media doesn't go out of their way to hate the ravens.

Dave Dameshek, Heath Evans, Jamie Dukes, Pete Prisco to name a few. Everyone else is relatively fair but those guys go hard after anything Ravens-related.

Dave Dameshek is a clown. That's what they pay him for. I laugh when he does a opinion piece every now and then

ATTENTION FLOCK: Charley Casserly said on NFL Network that the Texans would have beat us last year in the playoffs if Johnson had played.
I, the psychiatrist, diagnosed him as delusional.lol

Lastly, I could swear Johnson saw some action in that playoff game we won.
he did he must mean schaub and he is probably correct because the dline dominates our oline. We got killed, and them turnovers we got may which ultimately helped us win may not have happened with matt

Naw, even with Johnson at 100% we still would have won at home. (8-0 during the regular season; Oh so tough at home!

This is what another analyst Casserly said. (Speaking negatively about the Ravens.)
Not some other conjecture.
what? Read my reply again to what you said. I said Johnson did play. But I think he may have meant schaub. And if they had schaub they probably would have won

Excellent article. I love Flacco's desire to go for the kill in the 4th quarter, instead of letting Cam squander leads with heavy doses of the running game. I hope this is Flacco's breakout year, and I hope he silences the doubters in a huge way.

Clayton does good work. I see what he sees. I wonder...By not mentioning Suggs or a lack of pass rush is he implying we looked okay in that regard or is he just avoiding saying the same thing everyone else says?

Having so many burners is really going to pay off this year.

" In camp, Flacco has taken even more of a leadership role on offense. He continues to suggest to coaches he wants the offense to be more aggressive in the latter stages of games. Instead of trying to run out the clock with a running offense when the Ravens have a fourth-quarter lead, he wants them to attack more with the pass. For more than a decade, the Ravens have been constructed to win with defense and good running. Flacco wants the Ravens not to be as cautious. Because the Ravens' defense is so good, Flacco thinks the Ravens should go for the jugular. Instead of sitting on 17-3 leads that could end up being 20-17 victories, Flacco wants more offense and more points. Not a bad idea. He also suggests more passes on early downs, so the offense isn't stuck with too many tough third-down situations. "

Someone should make a plaque with these words on them and nail it to Cam's office door.

Most of everyone at ESPN except Clayton and Chris Berman. Skip Bayless, although he may just be a Flacco hater. Warren Sapp enjoyes bashing any Raven that didn't go to Miami.

Good article by Clayton. It's nice to see an unbiased observer speak positively about the Ravens.

This is another article on NFL.com that has some similar observations:

Enjoyed both articles. Clayton always gives this team a fair shake and the way I view it is he's one of the best out there so it's always good to hear positives from someone who knows his business.

It's funny too because he was a Steeler beat writer at one point lol. I like his point of view as well.
