Pitta is a well known Flacco favorite and was an excellent target on third down last season. Do we need to bring in someone else now, at least temporarily, or has Dickson improved to the point where he won't drop easy passes often?

Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come..that's definitely not what we needed and we've only been a week into training camp.

The forum just blow up with 4 different Pitta threads in 2 different sections lol.

But to be on topic, it doesn't sound good at all :( . Hopefully it's not too bad and he can get 100% healthy asap.

What? Good grief. How bad of a break???
[/quote]

It's likely he'll need surgery. That's probably a bad break.

He tweeted like a minute later that Harbaugh is hoping Pitta will be back for the first regular season game. They need to get their definitions of "out a while" in order.

Well 'out a while' could just mean rest of training camp and most of the pre-season.

This sucks, our U.S. Express just got derailed for the rest of TC and most likely the pre-season.

Let's hope Pitta is ready to go by Week 1.

They'll likely bring in avet TE, im not sure who our no.3 is atm?

If he is only out camp, preseason it could be a bit of a blessing in a way.

Pitta and Joe have great chemistry, him and ed isnt quite there, so ed seeing more snaps can only be good.

Im an optimist not as pessimist as you can tell

well that sucks, injuries happen and more are likely...

broken hand shouldn't keep him out too long though...maybe 6-8 weeks? idk..thats the timeline i had in my head for some reason could be totally wrong ...probably is

Next man up, but he should be back in 6 weeks depending on the break. Could of been worse

Pitta drew coverage on a vertical route and managed to come up with the ball in the end zone. I think it is safe to say we can use him as a receiving option as Todd Heap once did...

Sounds like he will be questionable for week 1. But it shouldn't be a long term injury. At least we already have an offensive system in place, so he knows the ropes and will be ready when healthy.

I think that would be a very safe assumption

i'd expect he'll be back early in the season...shouldn't miss too many games

hope he heals fast, depends on what kind of break it is too, is it a fracture? a full break? which bone is broke/fractured? etc
