One plus One equals zero...Jets continue to amuse...

So training camp is moving along nicely for Sanchez and Tebow, who both managed to go 1 for 7. Said Rex Ryan, "I think they did terrific. I hope we can run the ball."

I'm not sure this article is supposed to be funny, but I found it amusing.

I'm waiting for that moment when Sanchez either gets injured, the reason for it is because then I will know that the higher power is at work again. I'll also know that Tebow Magic still exists.

I can't wait for the day when Tebow is out of the league and this nonsense can stop.

I actually like the kid. Its not his fault (for the most part) that the media and football world is completely enamored by him. I wish him success, except for when it directly affects us.

It's funny, if you were to combine both of their attributes into one quarterback, he would make one hell of an awful QB as well.
my issue is there is as equally possibly even more religious people in the league than tebow. Ray lewis for one, is very religious, but everyone else doesnt flaunt it in your face every damn day, and then to make it worse, the media drool over it.

What about the rest of the players?

To me its just to in my face, by him and the media, it seems kinda fake and forced at times tbh.

Id say he distants more than hed attract to religion.

And to cement it, he is a n awful QB

I like him too, but I just wish he never was traded to the Jets.

Tebow will be the starter by week 8. Mark my words. And I will love the TebowMania.
I say he is the Jets starter by Week 10, which is after their Bye.

He'll be their starter sooner rather than later. And they still will be minus a decent QB. Tebow is an athlete but he lacks any QB skills. Still, it is the Jets, and I will watch them unravel and enjoy it.

Same here. I have nothing against Tebow or Sanchez personally, but as long as anyone wears that uniform, I can't "wish the best" for them.

Arnie, we don't agree on every little thing, but I respect each and every one of your posts. But here, I definitely have to agree. There are more Christians in the league, and more practicing Christians in the league, than just Tebow. Do I respect Tebow for standing up for his beliefs?? Yes. Do I think he uses that fact as a crutch so that media follows him even though he has an obvious lack of quarterback talent?? Again, a huge yes. He is attention hungry. I respect him, but I still say that. And not to go against any forum rules, but I'm actually a fellow believer of his beliefs as well, so I'm not attacking his beliefs one bit, but I still say that he is an attention hungry person who uses the beliefs as mainly just a crutch.

I honestly think that's just how he is. Weren't his parents missionairies? If you're raised neck deep in those surroundings, you usually end up being pretty hardcore like him.

From the beginning, this move has signaled to me that Rex cares more about media attention than he does about winning. And the nonsense that keeps going around about comparing Sanchez to Eli Manning - ridiculous first to compare a 1 year quarterback to a 3 year college starter. Second the Giants had the number 3 overall pick - one of the worst teams in the league in 2003, while the Jets were coming off an 8-8 season and traded UP to get Sanchez.

I think Tebow could be starting by midseason, and here's why: the Jets open with the Steelers, 49ers and Texans, ranked 2nd, 5th, and 4th in opposing QB rating last year - and all three with some offensive firepower that will force the Jets to throw the ball a lot. I see Sanchez starting off poorly.

Just to add to the fun/drama/dysfunction, Antonio Cromartie might see some snaps on offense.

I love Rotoworld's line: The Jets are poised to lead the league in gimmicks this season.

I'm with you man. I glad I'm not the only one who thinks his act is fake anymore, at least some of the time. I think he got through an entire interview on NFL Live without bringing up his religion which would be a putting a man on the moon equivalent accomplishment for him, but I wasn't paying complete attention as I'm trying to tune this crap out. I think some of it is because he's a white 'running QB'. It's a ridiculous reason to praise him as even the most successful running QB (Michael Vick) has won nothing, and it doesn't do justice to guys like Aaron Rodgers who can run if necessary but also know how to throw.

I can't phrase a criticism of Tebow's evangelical missionary home-schooled issues without going beyond the scope of this forum and getting rather nasty, so I'm just going to leave that one up to the rest of you guys.

He doesn't flaunt? He's just thankful for everything he's got. The media is why people don't like Tebow. They just put to much coverage of him because of his story, and the conservancy that they make of him.

I like him off the field because he's a great person who helps a lot of people. He is a role model who i got a ton of respect for.

I like him on the field because he is the clutchest player I have ever seen.

You can't fault him because of ESPN & NFLN, or because he belives in something that you don't.

You could say he's a horrible QB. But he's only entering his 3rd year, doesn't even have 16 starts yet, and took the Broncos to the playoffs. Their Defense could have been #1, IDC. The Broncos whole team went there. And Tebow was responsible for alot of it.

It's not like he builds himself up and say he's the best QB in the league. He's just trying his best to improve himself, you just can't fault him for that.
If he had a record of like 2-11 then yes, I would agree. There is nothing special about him and all he is, is a great person. But for the fact that he wins games is the only thing that matters.

I'm a fan of Tebow. No one in the history of sports has faced the scrunity he has faced and yet he has a smile on his face 24/7 and every interview is always positive and he puts the focus on his teammates..
Now see your blinded by your religious beliefs. Ray lewis is every bit of religious as tebow, and every now and then you would hear him say i thank god for..... whatever, and he is in the media as much as tebow, maybe not the usa wide media, but through this site, interviews etc i hear and see as much lewis as i do tebow on nfln or espn, and they arent even on the same level.

And as nurple pointed out, a missionarys job is to spread the word, convert people, yada yada, and you rarely to never hear or see pitta flaunting, or being in your face with religion, preaching etc and he was a missionary.

You cant see it because you dont want to, even T ray admitted to be a religious person and he can still see it

Does he tell you to read the Bible? Do this and that? I've never heard him flaunt his faith on T.V. All he does is is say thanks to his Lord and Savior.

People who shove it in your face our the ones who walk to your door in the middle of the AFC championship who try to hand you pen-flicks and stuff. (That happened to be, I was so mad, told them to leave lol). Or the "crazy babtist village people" who hold signs up in the street telling you what to do.

My stance is that I think that's just the way he is. My retort to your pitta mention is simply that pitta doesn't have the media coverage tebow has or he may well mention his beliefs more often. Either way, I just don't care. I'm not a fan.
