I can't wait for the track and field events...

Same here, but I doubt any US runners make the podium. I'd like to see Centrowitz(can never spell his name right) from Broadneck here in MD get at least on the podium, but I doubt it. Usually Kenyans and other African runners. They're to running what we are to swimming. And I too am proud of Bradley Wiggins. I really was pulling for Cavindish in the Road Race, but that's always so unpredictable. My favorite cyclists are the Schleck brothers, but after what happened to him in the Tour de France last year, Bradley Wiggins deserved this year's yellow jersey and the Gold in the time trial. I'd like to see Phelps and Lochte go 1, 2 in today's event. Doesn't have to be in that order, although I do wanna see Phelps get at least one more Gold. Would be great.

Sure, now that the greatest of all time has retired.

Not only perfect...phenominal! I have watched it over and over and am in total awe.

I literally jumped off my couch after her vault. That was a flawless vault, and I couldnt believe she was given less than a perfect score.

He's not the greatest in regards to the Olympics.

Still love water polo! I like the pool stuff and beach volleyball and gymnastics not track and field and horse stuff.

I'm starting to think Lochte is the most overhyped Olympian ever. He lost the gold medal in the last 15m in two races, and now Phelps who is supposed to be washed up beat him.

In his defense, he swam the two races 30 mins apart today.

Kazakhstan might disagree with you on that. And I agree on Lochte. He is good, but I think he just goes too hard too early. Phelps crushed that. Better to own the water than land.

That's all well and good, and I'm not saying he's a bad swimmer, but in the build-up to the Olympics they acted like he was going to win every medal.

Phelps just won gold in the 200 IM. Lochte took silver.
Awesome I don't think Lochte has the winners mentality I did not realize he and Phelps are the same age

Yeah I heard all this stuff about him breaking Phelps' records. I was real jacked. And once again, this is proof of Collinsworth not knowing a thing about what he's talking about. After the first Phelps/Lochte show down he said Lochte was swimming like a man who was angry or something dumb like that. And he built him up more. He definitely did a lot to contribute to us winning the 4x200m freestyle relay though. Looks like another battle between Phelps and Le Clos tomorrow. I think Phelps will be ready tomorrow. I'm hoping he can bring it to 21 with 17 Gold.
The greatest olympic cyclist is chris hoy no ifs or buts about it.. Unless you want to say Bradley Wiggins, who is at worst the 2nd best. Hoy 5 golds 1 silver, with his best event to yet come in this olympics, Wiggins 4 golds 1 silver 2 bronze, the only other person to compare was retired in 1904.

Dont come at me without the knowledge

What's 6+7? 13? That's what? 7 less than Phelps? Seven more than two guys combined. That's crazy. The best thing is that's he's from Baltimore. Just makes it even sweeter.
i was just talking about cycling, which mod 3 try to say wasnt the case, i proved that theory wrong.

But yes, talking every sport as a whole Phleps is in a league of his own big time, what age is he 27? he could if he wanted to go another round and win a few more.

Missy Franklin is 17 and she appears to be doing a hell of a lot of the swimming events, just like phelps. Itl be interesting to see how many she has by the time she retires. She might push him for medals, but i doubt she would get anywhere near to his golds.

Le Clos himself said he doesn't think he has what it takes to beat Phelps in the shorter race.

Yeah they're thinking he can beat Le Clos in that event if he stays on a certain time. I wanna say it's around the 51 mark. And yeah I'm very impressed with Franklin. And even though Soni doesn't do many events she is quite a force as well. Broke the WR in I think the 100 or 200m breast stroke. She did it last night during semi-finals and again today when she got the Gold. And I just feel bad for Nigeria's men's basketball team. Again, a team that had never been to the Olympics had to be in our way. I recorded the double lob that ended with Westbrook jamming it and I took a picture when we hit the 139 mark. The ridiculous thing is Anthony Davis is filling in for Blake Griffin. I take all the bad stuff I said about A.D. not being ready for the NBA. Granted, it's just Tunisia and Nigeria, but still. He can shoot the free throws and he's just all over the floor. And the lob where he did the reverse dunk was sick. I'm sure Spain is gonna be super tough, but I mean come on. Our guys defy gravity.

So Ali not getting Bronze when the scores were tied should be a crime. Apparently the person who makes the biggest mistake gets rewarded by having the event they screwed up on taken away for the tiebreaker while the person who was the more consistent one doesn't. Smh.

That doesn't sound right. I thought if there was a tie it was settled by their overall execution score?

Edit:
Their overall execution score is how they're placed (not a tiebreaker). Ali and the Russian had the same overall score so in order to settle the tiebreaker the judges then took off their lowest scored event from their total. In that event the Russian happened to have a huge mistake by falling off the beam. If being placed is based on an overall score from all events why would you eliminate one to settle the tiebreaker? Doesn't make sense. They both should have medalled or they need to find a better way to settle a tiebreaker.

Yeah that's a strange way to settle it. That's like removing all points scored in a specific quarter to settle a football game instead of taking it to overtime lol! They should both be awarded bronze. It happens in other events!

Track and field starts up this weekend doesn't it? Don't have a TV so can't watch (and with NBC's coverage, I'm rather glad of that, actually).
