Randy Lerner Sells The Cleveland Browns

40 posts in this topic

Hes not really a steeler fan though, isnt he some other fan, and initally part owned that team, then moved onto the steelers, and obviously only has an interest because he part owned them? I cant think of his "first" team but im pretty sure there was someone before the steelers. In fact it might be somewhere in this thread i heard it

honestly this is a good thing Lerner did not know American Football , we as ravens fans know what a Hands on Owner is , Steve has really helped since purchasing the team he has been influential in things such as Fan oriented rules for the stadium , making it not only a nice place for us but for visiting teams fans as well.

If he's a REAL Steeler fan he'll run the Browns even farther into the ground. The Steeler-Browns rivalry goes way back.

It's hard not to be a fan of a team you now own.

Oh boy.. this does not look good. The Browns may very well be going through a whole new rebuild with a new Front Office as it is being reported that the Browns plan on 'blowing up' the Front Office.
One league source tells Clark Judge of CBS Sports that new Browns owner Jimmy Haslam plans to "blow the whole place up," likely ousting team president Mike Holmgren and GM Tom Heckert.
Why not do this BEFORE he drafted a Runningback in the top 5 and a 29-year-old rookie QB then spent a top 40 pick next year on an average developmental receiver who's college numbers are laughably poor?

I am now in agreement with this in light of the news that they plan on 'blowing up' the Front Office. Why did they wait to do this now and not like last season so that they could have time to have their Front Office in charge before the the 2012 Draft.

Yes. I believe he was a Cowboys fan previously.

I wonder if Holmgren will hang it up or if he'll try to get a football czar job elsewhere. It's too bad he burned all his bridges in Seattle, that's where he should have stayed.

honestly I think this could be the best thing to happen to the franchise , the owner a staunch nfl history buff said he wants to restore the browns to what they were in the 30s - 60s a Rock solid competitor I have a feeling we will now see the AFCN as the toughest divison in sports in 2 years I am happy for the browns fans they have an owner like we have a man of the fans and for the fans

It would be nice to see something positive come out of all this, not just for the NFL but for the city of Cleveland & the fans of the Browns. I really do wish them the best of luck in their rebuild and look forward to our annual meetings on the field. I can honestly see the AFC North being the only division to have all 4 teams with 10+ wins in the same season, say -- by 2016.
