Bengals CB Kirkpatrick out 6 Weeks

16 posts in this topic

With Training Camp starting, this is a blow to the Bengals defense as he will miss six weeks due to a fractured knee bone he suffered while preparing for Training Camp. A six week injury derails Kirkpatrick for all of Training Camp and Pre-Season.

Guess we'll just have to wait that much longer to watch Joe light him up

Yup and I was anticipating Torrey to just straight up embarrass the kid.

So does this land him on the PUP list to start the season? I would say so since it is a fractured knee bone but it sucks to see such a promising rookie get hurt like this.

Hmm not really sure; he should be ready by week 2 or 3.

I agree, and I feel like a jerk saying but I'm glad he may not be fully ready week 1.

Yeah, I know it's something we should be happy about since he may not play in Week 1 but regardless where Kirkpatrick was taken he was a promising rookie corner for any team. For a Corner, to have a knee injury already is a bad sign because it may take him a little bit before he fully recovers. Kinda reminds me of Prince Amukamara's injury last year that derailed him from his rookie season.

Flacco's chance of having a field day on Monday Night is getting better and better.

Leon Hall - Questionable (PUP)
Dre Kirkpatrick - Out 2-6 weeks
Nate Clements - Solid, but aging and injured
Terrence Newsome - Aging and coming off a bad year
Jason Allen - Scheme Fit?
Adam Jones - shaky and aging

He will open up the season with a bang. Just like last year. Huge statement game, but this time it will be prime time.

They've got serious question marks in the secondary, but Cincy's front seven is as talented as any in the league. Joe, the RBs and the o-line are still in for a battle.

JJ has always been Flacco's nemesis. Him going to Houston was huge for our chances against Cinci, IMO.

Their secondary can definitely be exploited early in the season. Its got a lot of question marks and injuries. I'm glad we are playing them week 1.

But the Bengals always play us tough defensively no matter who they line up. I expect more of the same. They'll be testing our O-Line the same way we'll be testing their pass D. Should be an interesting battle as to who will prevail.

They just lost more depth in their secondary. Bengals have lost 5th round rookie CB Shaun Prater for the year due to a knee injury. Also CB Brandon Ghee has a broken wrist and will miss the pre-season.

Though Marvin Lewis said that Kirkpatrick will be ready for the Monday Night Football game in Week 1.
