The Dark Knight Rises...Who saw it?

18 posts in this topic

NO SPOILERS Here People

If you did, did you feel that there wasn't much story considering how long it was. Run time 2 hrs 45 min

NO SPOILER, But i actually think they should make a sequel from this one (yes i know this was Nolans and Bales last movie), i felt they left alot of stuff unanswered or should i say made more questions then actually answering them.

I liked the movie but i think Nolan was trying too hard in a way, which he really didn't need to.

Please comment you opinion if you saw it.

It was a good movie, I will buy it on blu ray. Still think the Dark Knight was better. This one was longer then it needed to be yet was confusing at times in relation to Space/Time (Desert and Gotham). I enjoyed it, the Bane vs Batman fight was awesome! The voices were hilarious, Bane sounded ridiculous

Good movie. They are going to reboot it without Nolan though and follow the comics more instead of trying to make it realistic. Bane was a good villain.

I don't think this counts as a spoiler since it doesn't give away any outcome of the film. There is a scene that you see in the trailer with the football stadium. This movie was filmed in parts in Pittsburgh and they have certain Steeler players on one team. The kicker of the other teams last name is Ravenstank. Since Pittsburgh had a little say on using their location they took a cheap shot at us. I'm surprised no one else has caught that or maybe I missed the thread/post that mentioned it. I saw it the other day good movie but I hated that part.

I noticed that too but someone on the site said it was a shot at I think their mayor. Also, his name was Ravensthal.

Okay that makes more sense than my conspiracy against them taking shots at us. It was only on the screen for a second and I made out Ravensta and I thought where you put the L was a N and I guess my mind put the rest together.

Good movie. The Dark Knight was better.

I have several beefs with the movie. Particularly...
How did Batman escape the Bat, and more importantly, the nuclear blast at the end of the movie? We know he fixed the Bat's autopilot. Some people think he jumped out when he partially blew up that building (right before flying over the bridge) but they show him in the Bat after that. They also show him in the Bat with (and someone help jog my memmory here) with 5 seconds on the bomb's timer.
Like most have said, there were definitely some flaws and it could of been better. Still don't understand how the ending was possible

I also think a sequel or a Catwoman spinoff would ruin the effect.

I've actually heard rumors that there may be a catwoman spinoff. And Anne Hathaway would be all for it.

I liked the movie, but I thought the Dark Knight was better. Some parts just weren't fleshed out enough like the travelling issue that someone else brought up and the background of exactly how a certain character knew Batman's identity.

They are going to make more movies without Nolan? I had no idea, but I think it's too soon for a reboot, much like Spiderman.

I thought Spider-man was due, it was too campy and cheesy. Garfield was so much better than Macquire and the overall movie was a better tone or mood than having danny elfman produce the sountrack.

Only if Christopher Nolan is involved somehow. And if there is a spinoff, I don't think he will be.

Only a couple things I didn't like:
The second thing you listed was a pretty big spoiler! Well, not so much for me since the ending was a combination of a number of theories I already had prior to seeing it. I added spoiler tags for people who still haven't seen it.

As for your first gripe about Batman's travels, I believe that prison was actually in Mexico. It was never explicitly stated where it was located, but I don't believe it was India. I do, however, share your sentiment that it didn't make sense how quickly Batman got from that location to Gotham.

You don't know where it is and you also don't know exactly how long it took him to get back to Gotham. As far as the spoiler, without trying to reveal anything, the person running the operation had a close relationship with someone who knew who he was. It was no surprise. Then there is also the fact anyone with a brain should've known it was him. Wayne vanishes, comes back and Batman appears with a extremely expensive tank for a vehicle. Then Wayne is a hermit for 8 year and Batman leaves too until Wayne is then seen again and only a few days later Batman pops up in an even more expensive means of transportation.

Though I agree that it's a stretch that people didn't figure out Bruce Wayne and Batman were the same person with their parallel disappearances, this is where suspension of disbelief and familiarity with the comics both come into play.

In the comics (and as Nolan attempted to establish in the first film), Bruce Wayne's public image as a pompous jerk is what convinces people that he couldn't be a vigilante. Several people in the comics piece the clues together, but Wayne always figures out a way to throw them off the trail. Nolan failed to establish this in the third film, and I believe that's why it was hard for viewers to suspend disbelief as to how no one deduced Batman's identity.
