You mean DT I am guessing right? Those pesky Alabama players

I mean normally I'd call them stupid, but I believe that particular drug has produced positive results in pain management.  Considering the fact that almost every Alabama player gets the crap beat out of them, it might be a necessity.

Not exactly related to an arrest but the three men Mike Adams accused of stabbing him have been acquited

http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2014/04/30/jury-deliberations-begin-in-adams-stabbing-case/

Their side of the story was that Adams started the conflict but turned the story around because he 'had too much to lose' if he got in trouble again. Hilarity!

Also from an older story on the trial:

Quoting myself for a follow-up on the story. Adams is being sued in a civil case by one of the former-defendants. He sat in jail for 11 months only to be acquited.

He still has to be convicted first, although the evidence certainly doesn't stack up in his favor.

There have been no formal charges on Irsay yet so Goodell is waiting.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/05/21/goodell-wants-more-information-before-disciplining-irsay/

which generally speaking I understand and agree with, but given the NFL's past actions often coming very swiftly sometimes in the absence of legal charges this strikes me as peculiar.

Obviously this is an owner so its Goodell's boss but he is a figurehead that represents the NFL and ideally should be held to a high standard.

Any punishment Irsay receives will be largely ceremonial.  A suspension won't effect the team, and a fine is meaningless because he's a billionaire, but these both should happened and arguably should have already happened.

He shouldn't have been at the draft and he shouldn't have been at the owners meeting. Those are two very public and high profile events. I don't think he needs to announce he's getting help or anything, obviously he should but it doesn't need to be made public.

Now if anythings done it will have less impact since its would just be a ceremonial punishment.

Not an arrest nor even formal charges yet but just was like - wow, really?

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/browns/2014/05/23/johnny-manziel-lawsuit-insanity/9484571/

Don't know about this one - since the woman is not answering calls, doing talk shows, engaging the media - find it hard to believe it's about publicity.

This is extremely fishy. PFT is all over this immediately calling it a hoax which indeed it does SOUND like it. Now the only issue is some of this does seem hard to make up, but at the same time if it is a hoax, this hurts the cases of real victims. This is the one issue people who want to make stuff up just to get money from someone. They can file suit, say someone did something then didn't then get caught on that lie. Then a real victim comes and sues someone and that person can say she is lying.

This whole thing is a mess from the beginning.

The circumstances certainly seem fishy, but would it really surprise anyone if Manziel was spreading his sick nasty [vulgarity removed] around like that?

Well certainly if the claim is pics - she's going to have to produce them. Just having such doesn't mean what she claims it to me though - still could have been a consenual thing.

Mostly it's the timing for me though. This supposedly went on for a year but she waits until now to file anything.

She probably wanted to wait until his first NFL check cleared so he had money to settle with her. His massive family wealth is protected from his [vulgarity removed], I assume.

Yes. I'm not a Manziel fan but how could anyone take that claim seriously?

Wait time over.... and he could face a suspension.

PFT says Irsay was charged with 2 misdemeanors after his drunk driving and drug arrest from March. If convicted he can face up to 60 days in jail.

Irsay has to face some sort of punishment, even though I don't really see the point in punishing owners. Other than not showing preferential treatment. But suspending them doesn't have the effect suspending a player or coach does, and fining them really doesn't do too much when you have the coffers most of these men do.

You're correct. The only fitting punishment for Irsay that I see is that he has to return the logo, name, colors and history of anything to do with Colts  to Baltimore.

That would be fair.

Yeah, suspend him from what? A fine is 'blah' and, depending on the amount, Irsay could pay it with the loose change in his wallet.

A real punishment is getting docked a draft pick, can't buy that back.

Take away the right to tweet bout the NFL. That'll be like the death sentence. Lol.

Yup, there's not too much you can do to the billionaires who own the clubs that is going to amount to much.

The continuing saga of Josh Gordon... Memorial Day Weekend.

The WR who is about to face a suspension from the NFL was pulled over last weekend for speeding, and at the same time a passenger was cited for marijuana possession after the officer detected the smell of it.

Now I don't agree since doing 74 in a 60 most likely means he was on the highway and 74 is pretty much keep up with traffic speed. But this isn't something to do when he's already facing trouble.

At almost 10 PM, you're probably the one setting the pace at almost 15 over, which is speeding. It was on the interstate, by the way. Going 15 over at night is going to net you a ticket, regardless.

I think he's going to be suspended the entire year with the new marijuana information surfacing. Like, you know you're about to be possibly suspended a year, but you still won't stop? Wasted talent
