When does the media catch on that the "Patriot Way" is a myth?

When the media finally realizes that Belichick can't electrocute them with force lightning.

BB is losing his touch. I mean he passed on Clay Matthews in the 2009 Draft. If BB was still a "guru" he would have took Matthews knowing how talented of a player he was and was going to become.

We had a shot at him, too. Traded up with the Pats to get Oher smh

Yeah I know. Just saying, look at the Patriots draft classes as of late, he is losing his touch.

Or at least admit that other teams might not want to do things the "Patriot Way".

I'm guessing the next one will be Brady. He's lost so many options this off season he's gonna go crazy and kick everyone with his Uggs

That could be a bit of a stretch you think?

The same could be said of Ozzie not taking Geno Atkins 2010 4th rounder.

Baltimore selected Sergio Kindle, Terence Cody, Ed Dickson in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

Just what the Patriots needed.

For all the obnoxious, loud mouth fans over there... Ha!

For the better part of the last decade I've heard from Patriots fans about how the Ravens are thugs, etc compared to the "classy" Patriots. I'm loving this Pats off-season. Edited by ratedr

Even if the Pats don't cut Dennard and people say they're going back on their word ("We cut Hernandez because he was arrested"), I think we all would understand. Hernandez was cut because he's probably going to prison for life. They could really use Dennard.

I hope we have a good policy for correcting behavior on this team,  I want my son to know that we support an honorable team.  The players we have now show alot of class but some of them I have my reservations about.  Yeah I understand in the end its about making money just like to see good leadership when these kids start making more money than me.

Dickson has by no means been a bust and Kindle had a freak accident.

Agreed. But what about Cody?

I'm not suggesting Ozzie isn't the man. But the thought that a great coach missed on a couple players and is no longer good at identifying talent is beyond a stretch. That same argument can be made of everyone. That was my only point

I think Cody could turn it around this year. I'm keeping my eyes on him. I need to, anyway, since he might eat my food if I glance away, lol.

I understand.  Just thought I'd respond to that little detail.  I agree with you on Cody though, but I won't derail this topic any further.

Was Josh Brent on probation after the accident?  Because getting in trouble while you're already in trouble is absolutely inexcusable.  I'm not on board with weed being illegal and I don't by any means think it's a crime or makes you a bad person, but doing anything illegal, regardless of what specifically it is, while already in trouble cannot be defended.

Same goes for Dennard.  Taking these chances while already being on a short leash is asking for it.

We were desperate for a Franchise Left Tackle and Oher was literally the last guy with any potential on the board.  Plus Suggs was entering his 6th season and was only 25 at the time.  We just signed him to a big deal (or he was still franchised)  He entered the NFL very young.

It was great at the time and the Ravens were excited but, 4 years later, who looks better?

We still had Gaither though so I don't think the need at LT was so overwhelming. Oher kept falling and they thought he was a steal.

If we didn't take Oher that year remember the next year, Gaither didn't play a single down. Who would've protected Joe? We wouldn't have had a quality LT or RT on the team.  Oher hasn't been pro bowl caliber but he's been reliable by not missing a start and Joe's never missed a game. We also won the Super Bowl with him starting at RT. I don't think getting Atkins or Matthews would've been more important than keeping Joe upright during this past playoff run. They might be better players in general but for our team Oher was the right call in this instance.

True but you can't just look back at a draft and say we missed by not taking a certain player.

Von MIller was arrested today for failing to appear in court over traffic violations.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/08/14/von-miller-arrested-on-failure-to-appear-in-court/

It doesn't look good for him, he was due in court on charges of careless driving, driving without a license and no proof of insurance. Those are pretty serious charges and to miss court, also not a good sign.
