Who Is On Your All Time Ravens Team?

You can't base a selection for our "all-time" team off of potential but it is just fun :) But seriously Jimmy Smith and Duane Starks at corner is a complete slap in the face to C-Mac. Starks never compared to him and the potential we all see in Jimmy is pretty much what C-Mac was.

Thankfully some picked sharper over Scott.
Two things that I'd love to have had for real.
Ngata and Siracusa playing together as well as Peter bouleware a.nd Suggs.

I'm kind of surprised that everyone is picking Todd Heap over Shannon Sharpe. Heap was great, and I understand that he was a huge fan favorite, and in fact there are few people who are bigger Todd Heap fans than I. However, Shannon Sharpe is a guy some would argue as the greatest TE of all time. He is, at least, a HoFer and was our best offensive weapon during the Super Bowl run.

My other schtick would be that I'd rather have Lorenzo Neal than Vonta Leach. This isn't even a bit of a slight to Leach, who is the best FB in the league right now. It's just that Neal would be considered the best blocking FB of the past couple of decades. I'd put him at the top of the depth chart.

Yeah but we're talking a Todd Heap who would be in his prime (01-10), over Shannon Sharpe who was already 32 years old when he got to Baltimore, and was only here 2 seasons. In terms of long-term impact as well as their physical abilities when they were here, a young Heap IMO is superior to Sharpe at the end of his career. Todd put up more stats AS A RAVEN, but nobody would say he was better than a HOFer. A better way to explain it might be that Q is probably the best receiver the Ravens have ever had in terms of ability, but he's only been here 2 seasons, while a guy like Mase was here 6 years and did a lot of great things for us, so Mase would get the nod over Q for total service.

I'm surprised at all of the selections of Jamal Lewis over Ray Rice. I couldn't have been the only one frustrated w/ Jamal Lewis tip-toeing when he got to the line??

The only ones that immediately come to mind without any thought are Jonathan Ogden, Ray Lewis, and Matt Stover.

The rest I shall have to think about.

Thanks, I figured even Sweetness, Sanders, or AP would not be able to gain 20 yards on them. I even considered Pollard at Strong Safety, but I figured I better go with Woodson to help in the secondary just in case, although no O-line in football could handle that front line and the QB's would be running for their lives to be anywhere close to accurate.

The other question I have is, are you basing these selections on their time as Baltimore Ravens? Also, I think most of you are also lowering a player's score in your heads and hearts, based on what you expected from them. You are all knocking down Michael Oher, who actually made the Pro Bowl as a Right Tackle over Zeus, who had decent years here and in Cleveland, made a lot of stupid penalties and some real monster blocks. And, lastly, I noticed a lot of you moved guys around in positions, just to bring them into the team. Neither Rod Woodson or Ed Reed played Strong Safety, so I believe that you should have to choose one for Free Safety and leave Woodson off the list.

I remember the times when Jamal Lewis and Matt Stover were the only offense we had except for Todd Heap and Shannon Sharpe sacrificing themselves. I remember that our ememies would put everything they had on the line to stop him. Can you imagine how good he would have been with a decent QB and a better receiving corp? IMHO, I think if he was on our current team he would have more rushing yards than Rice.

I thought about that same thing, but realized this is just for fun. It is "your team" so put them where you want and don't try to over think it too much. It is ok to choose from your heart for this.

Healthy and younger heap is pretty good too.
I like both leach and Lorenzo both are damn similar so it'd be a toss up there.
