Really? Wow, kinda surprised.

He only really had 4 good years here
I think being a big part of our SB team, and that 2,000 yard season has a lot to do with it. Not to mention, he was our offense the other few years.

Had a Superbowl win to top off a great rookie season. Ran for 2000 yards. And for most of the 2000's he was the only bright spot in our offense. Imagine him on the offense we have now.

Well deserved, he carried our offense on his back for years.

I love how we're going to do it week 5 vs the Browns.

This is all true, he and Ray Lewis were the faces of the Ravens for years.

It's probably because I only started watching the Ravens since the 2005 season, when Jamal was banged up and a shell of what he once was.

Thats probably it. I didn't start watching until the end of 2006, and I didn't get really into it until 2008. All I really have to go by is my dad's word. From the way he talks about Jamal you would have thought Jamal was a god.

Someone needs to find that clip of him dragging MULTIPLE defenders with him on his way to score. It's unreal.

I will always remember him giving James Farrior a stiff arm and then plowing Joey Porter into the dirt in 2006, though. Beast mode.

I loved watching him run.

I remember when I was like 10 or 11, I used to think him and Ray were brothers.

I will still never forgive Brian Billick for sitting Jamal in the last game and a half during that 2000 yard season. He could have(and would have!) broke Eric Dickerson's record for all-time single season rushing.

For that accomplishment alone, it would have gotten him into the hall of fame, let alone the ring of honor.

And he's a perfect example of where you hate to let a player go a year too early(he did great for a horrible Browns team), but it's better than getting rid of him a year too late.

WELL DESERVED!

I still can't believe Jamal did what he did when his quarterbacks were Elvis Grbac, Jeff Blake, Kyle Boller, Derek Anderson and Brady Quinn. I mean, a 5-year old could tell you the Ravens and those Browns were going to run the ball almost exclusively, and yet he still racked up over 1000 yards in 6 of his 7 seasons, then went to a terrible Cleveland team and racked up 2300 yards in 2 seasons.

well deserved NO QUESTION.
he was a beast.
and I love the fact that the induction might be during the Browns game. :)

What I remember most about him was ealry in the game he would not get a lot of big breaks, he would just run into and beat the living tar out of the defenders. The would eventually get tired of the abuse and J. Lewis would start getting big yards.

He was and still is one of my fav. Ravens ever.

I have a Jamal Lewis jersey, but I am not sold that he is the most deserving ROH entry. There are so many good retired Ravens out there....

To date we have

Hated seeing him go too.
Yes he wasn't able to fully recover from his ankle injury with Baltimore but you always felt like he was about to get right...,

Almost 8000 yards and 43 TDs with the Ravens, including one 2000 yard season that was thiiiiis close to being the NFL record for best rushing season of all time. He certainly deserves to be in our RoH as one of the best tailbacks of the past decade, especially considering that he did it with no passing game, and was one of our few offensive weapons during the Super Bowl run.

I'll definitely be wearing my Jamal Lewis jersey for Week 3 to celebrate his induction.

I'm sure being a part of the franchise's only SB run and an important cog in it is why he's in. I am not ready to embrace him again. Yes, I'm still unhappy he went to play for the Brownies. Still ticks me off.

Well deserved. Jamal was my favorite Raven before we drafted Reed.
I have family in Knoxville, and I remember my Uncle calling me and saying "you have to watch this RB Jamal Lewis!! He's got a great blend of size and speed."
Then we drafted him the next year. He was a rare talent, and I'm glad I was able to see him his last year at UT and his years here in bmore such a beast!!!!!

Jamal and Stover are why we got to the Superbowl and for that he deserves ROH.
This. I dont think people really realize how good Jamal was and how bad our offense was in 2000. Put Jamal on a team in any of the years of his prime with a semblance of a real QB and a vertical threat and Jamal would easily have put up 1400 yards a season.

The guy ran right through linebackers like AP does now with a little less explosion in his first step, but Jamal was an absolute junkyard dog in his prime. I'll never forget him running right through Al Wilson in 2000, even though both were rookies Al Wilson became a force at MLB for Denver and Jamal ran right through his tackle. Wilson wanted no part of Jamal in the 4th quarter.

As mentioned before, what I remember most was him just constantly abusing defenders early in the game breaking their will, then running all over them later in the game. For him to be able to run the way he did against 8 sometimes 10 in the box was amazing. And lets also not forget to give Femi and Sam Gash some accolades.
