The deal is 4 years for 32 million.

How do you guys think this affects Rices chances of getting a new deal?

Isn't that less than what McCoy got?

How this affects Rice negotiations, it doesn't. That price is about what Rice is worth, but he wants a lot more than that in the AP/CJ2K type range.

Well hopefully if the Bears can sign Forte before training camp, so can the team sign Rice as he is valuabe to the Ravens offense.

Ok, I believe Matt Forte took one for the team. Considering the deals that Rice, Foster and McCoy all got this off-season, Forte could have easily played out this year and walked from the Bears in 2013 and got a similar contract in the open market that other running backs got.

You never know. He could have gotten hurt and been a 27 year old RB that hasn't stayed healthy the last 2 years looking for anything.

Plus with all the recievers the Bears have plus Michael Bush, I think he knows his production from last year wont be the same. Next year he should definetly have less receptions, maybe even less rushing yards/TDs.
When his production goes down, so does his value.

This was the best move for him, if he put up that production on a different team I think he could have got more.

Was a happy evening in my house yesterday. I got to drop the news to my fiance that the Bears re-signed Forte and then a little later, I got the news that we locked up lil' Ray.
