Elvis Dumervil Arrested On Assault Charge

Another player in trouble. This off-season has been filled with player stupidity and getting in a lot of trouble and now Elvis Dumervil adds to it. Dumervil was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm which is a felony Saturday Night. Little details have come out but this is a real serious charge here and could get him more trouble.

Real talk here - Why do players keep getting arrested in the off-season? Is there something about just wanting to party and do stupid stuff? You would think that with Goodell being so suspension-happy, players would have stopped being stupid... I just don't get it...

True and it is starting to come out. Apparently it all started when Dumervil was driving in Miami when another car cut him off, horns started blowing and arguments ensued. It is also said that Dumervil and his friend went to the car, lifted up their shirts displaying the guns. When police arrived, Dumervil told the cops there was no gun but the cops found it in the glove compartment and he was taken to jail.

For the life of me I can't figure out why these people feel the need to carry guns with them everywhere they go. To me, a handgun in public is an invitation to trouble unless you're a police officer.

Me too, who assults their own mother? That's exactly what is coming out now. It all started when Dez and his half brother were arguing and then I guess his mom was trying to stop it and Dez wound up SLAPPING his OWN MOTHER across the face and pulling her hair and shirt. That right there, slapping your own mother, BIG CHARACTER CONCERN!

I wonder if Dallas will cut him after this season.

Honestly, I don't think it's different from any other offseason. There are plenty of arrests year after year, but with so many players in the league, that's bound to happen, especially with the money they get paid.

I'll give Dez a little bit of a break, unless more facts are released that serve against him. It's not a horrific mistake IF all he did was shove his mother, and whatever else he may or may not have done, he turned himself in.

Dumervil seems more screwed though.

That's what rotoworld reported and later PFT in another article that in the police report it said that he slapped his mother. Though we should make another thread for Dez so we don't go off topic here.

Regarding Dumervil, I guess Denver loves making football billboards as they made another one. This time it is directed toward Dumervil and says "Stick with the guns that made you a star" pointing to his muscles.
