Marcus Howard

... quite simply, Baltimore needs to get this guy when his contract ends in the CFL.

He is the second coming of Cameron Wake; and this kid is EVERY bit as good.

I'm a die-hard Raven fan in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

The CFL came to Baltimore after the Colts were stolen; with the connection there, Ozzie & Co should be utilizing this. There's 1-2 players a year that come from the CFL and make a difference in the NFL every year; this is a huge opportunity that is currently being ignored to bring in cheap difference makers.

Marcus Howard will be a STUD in the NFL one way or another. It should be in purple and black.

Cameron Wake? I don't see it.

He's averaging a sack a game in the CFL since he showed up. He's a beast against the run. He's a bit older at 26, but he just needs a shot and you'll get 5 solid years. I haven't seen someone this dominant here since Wake. He's in double coverage every snap and it quite simply doesn't matter. The guy balls, and he balls damn hard.

The Ravens, to my knowledge, have largely ignored the history of the CFL in the city. Fair enough, I'm clearly not offended by it given who I cheer for. But this guy is just someone they NEED to look at if they're serious about adding pass rushers.

And remember... when Cam Wake was Cam Wake, no one saw it either. Dude is DOMINATING. He needs a serious look, and the Ravens needs to be exhausting every possible talent pool, and that includes the CFL.

As an aside... what are Baltimore's feelings towards the CFL?

Wake also had elite size and athleticism, Howard doesn't. In any case it's all relative as the tackles in the CFL are all stiff turnstiles.

Hey, maybe he's Came Wake light. That's still a player I want on my NFL roster every day of the week.

It's not every day a guy comes in out of no where and rips it apart the second he's here; just ask Ricky Williams. Marcus Howard is making a NAME for himself right now. He's unstoppable. I agree the tackles aren't the greatest, obviously; but... there are still very few guys who can come out and do what he is doing.

It's a shot at a homer that costs nothing.

The most impressive thing about this guy is his motor. He never stops moving. Doesn't matter if it's a 1 play drive or a 12 play drive, he's playing every snap like it's his last. And that's for a big guy with a 20 second play clock.

Ray Lewis didn't have elite size...Anyway, I'm sure Ozzie and his Merry Men are doing their due diligence and checking every possible source for talent.

I really hope they are... but we're never mentioned as teams looking at CFL talent. It's a thin pool.. but it's still a pool.

Howard was selected in the 5th round by the Colts in 08. Played in 9 games & put up pedestrian numbers which led to the Colts waving him in 09. Nobody picked him up. What's that say about him? He put up good sack numbers last year but, his tackle numbers were unimpressive at best. Seems to be more of a situational pass rusher only so if he can excel in the CFL maybe that's the best place for him.

I'm a huge Raven fan from edm Alberta too, glad to hear there's someone else out there too...but taking a chance on someone unproven at the NFL level is too big a risk for a contending team in my opinion. Don't get me wrong he could contribute somewhere in the NFL but I don't see Baltimore as a potential NFL landing spot.
