Draft Day Trades

5 posts in this topic

This is an issue my league is running into right now, and I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on here. Some owners in my league are hoping to institute trading of draft picks. I'm tentatively in favor of it, but I don't know anyone who has run a system like this and I was hoping to find someone with some practical experience.

Does anyone play in a league that allows trading draft picks? If so, how does your league work it out? Anyone have any good arguments either for or against it?

i play in one right now and have actually traded draft picks this year, i use espn. I dont know why anyone would have a problem with trading draft picks, everyone has a right to do it so i dont see an issue. Some league managers make it where they have to approve the trades, mine doesnt. When i click on another team, theres a tab that says propose trade, then it lists all your draft picks. very simple concept. i traded my 4th for a 5 and a 6. Theres also ways to package a player and a draft pick. any questions feel free

Trading of draft picks is all well and fine, but depends on how the league works. Trade future picks? Winner of the league year 1 gets pick 16 year 2 etc... That should all be determined

Iv'e had that proposition in a league a few years ago, but how does that work? What if you're buddy who won last season doesn't want to be pick 16 anymore so he decides to elope with another man, or even get abducted by aliens? Or eaten by a shark even... What would happen then.
You seem to have all the answers sizzle, what's your answer to that?

Why is the sky blue?
What is the purpose of life?
Why wont you give me a RB for a good price?
How can you eat you're pie and have it too?
Stuff like that...

Why wont you give me a RB for a good price? - because you're at the mercy of the market and I am the market

lolwut i was just listing factors that should be told/considered if you want to do trading of draft picks. There are several ways to do it.

If its keeper or dynasty fashion is trading future picks allowed

If its a one year redraft league you obv can only trade picks from that year

If its a keeper/dynasty does the winner of that league get the last pick the next year and order of picks is determined by how you finish?

All I was saying is that there are factors that are important to consider when you want to implement draft pick trading.
