I really don't want Ray to stay too long, he always said he wouldnt play once his level dropped off because he holds himself to such high standards, i'm starting to wonder if he can truly quit the game though...like so many players its hard to walk away from

with all the new information on concussions and impact injuries(i dont know the real name of it) i worry about a guy like Ray Lewis...I dont want to wake up one morning to the news Ray has shot himself in the chest or something horrible..i love football but thats too much..Ray has played for 17 years..or it will be after this year..thats a lot of hits, a lot of punishment...i dont know

it is no secret that Ray is on the tail end of his awesome career in the nfl. all of the greats in every sport walk away eventually and Ray is no different! it will definitely be bitter sweet to see it when it final happens. bitter...cause the greatest MLB to ever play this game will be gone. sweet....to know that we had him for nearly 20 years...and HE WAS OURS....HE WAS A RAVEN!

Over the past couple of years, when asked about retirement, he's spoken often about walking away from football entirely (i.e. no coaching) because he wants to spend more time with his family. I think he's serious about that and I think he's ready to quit as soon as he wins that next championship.

And if that next Super Bowl ring doesn't come for some awful reason, I think Ray will know when his body has had enough.
