Brett Favre is my favorite player in NFL history. Played with a passion, he really loved the game. Many records broken, and he was an Iron man. I will never knock a player for flip flopping with retirement because when you love something so much it is hard to walk away and it wasnt his fault ESPN made it such a huge deal.

My vote is for Unitas, mostly because he could win games just on sheer confidence in his abilities.

Who would you rank over him then? I think the only others in the conversation would be Young and Tittle.

I was going to go with Carmazzi myself.

Just because all of my life growing up my father, uncle & grandfather told me all about him. Non stop whenever we talked about football. About how Unitas could make any throw, any time. So I guess I'm bias towards it.
And because Ive seen clips of them, read their stats, seen their accolades aand added everything up. Just my opinion.

Same here. My father used to go to every Colts home game during Unitas' prime. He used to talk about Unitas all the time, that's how I basically know what he did on the field.

Watching the NFL's top 100 and I am still baffled at how Aikman made the HOF.
Aikmen is what our very own Flacco will soon become

Decent in the regular season, damn good in the posteason.

3 rings=HOF, which is why if Rothtard were to have won that 3rd SB in GB, we'd be talking about him as a future HOF.

Marino.

Put him in today's flag-football environment, and that would pretty much settle this debate
Agreed completly.

Also, give him a defense, then he has more rings than anyone.

I picked Manning, but it's a really tough call. I don't think it's Montana though, because while he was fantastic he was a product of Bill Walsh's brilliance more than anything.

Everyone loves the Cowboys - Bernie Kosar's numbers are almost identical, and nobody talks about him being a HOFer. Plus 3 rings and 6 pro-bowls tend to help people overlook other things like how many interceptions you threw compared to TDs.

well i for one cant say that because i never seen him play. People downplay stats all the time when chatting about flacco, yet they live and die by them with unitas? Very contradicting...

Just my personal opinion, i havent seen alot of these guy play, so i cant "rate" or "rank" them, otherwise im just going on hearsay, which i, and many others detest when it comes to every other aspect. I form my own opinions, like im sure all of you do, so to say this guy is number 1 or whatever without actually ever seeing him play, i just find odd...

So because they are forming their own opinion, although they have never seen these guys play, they are NOT forming their own opinion? Sort of contradictory wouldnt you say? Perhaps you should be saying that you are not capable of forming an opinion on a player that you have never seen play, then just accept that many people can do what you cannot do.
