Tucker all the way.

"The best player plays"...then that's Tucker.

1) By FAR the Stronger leg.

2) By FAR more accurare.

3) Younger with a brighter future

4) Better attitude

5) NOT a CHOKER

6) Can do other things if needed...onside kicks and punts, tackle/save runback TD's, which you need with Rosberg's ST's

7) cheaper

Now WHY on earth would anyone go with Cundwhiff??
Dude, I love your list; you nailed it....

Harbs, stop your blindness of manlove and come with sense; take this list with you........

Unless Cundiff misses a kick in a preseason game then he will be here and not Tucker. Multiple sources have already said that Harbaugh stated the same to Cundiff.

Just saw this on Rotoworld via Baltimore Sun:
Correct me if I'm wrong, but being terrible from beyond 50 yards and missing a chip shot field goal in our biggest game since the superbowl is enough to lose your spot in my book.

Then I have lost a lot of faith in the decision making of the front office. When our season ends on another missed kick, or we lose a game by 3 points because Billy missed one, while Tucker is off on some team making 50 yarders and finishing the session with a 90% FG%, maybe then they'll learn to make decisions based on the best guy for the job and not who's feelings they don't want to hurt.

Hopefully those reports are wrong, if Tucker and Cundiff are both perfect tonight and Tucker still gets cut then the F.O.really does not have a viable argument for their decision to keep Cundiff. "Well Tucker had 7 missed kicks in camp and Billy had 18, but they were both perfect in the preseason so we decided to stick with Billy who we already know can buckle under pressure in game time, rather than go with the confident rookie". There's nothing they can say.

Let's hope Ozzie, DeCosta or Steve has been paying attention to these practices because someone needs to get it through Harbaugh's thick skull that Tucker is the better Kicker and that Cundiff needs to be released.

We are playing Jacksonville right? Didn't Cundiff miss a kick or two in that game against them last season? Maybe there is hope!
Im guessin Harbaugh feels bad about not calling the timeout even though Cundiff could have. Heres hoping Cundiff has a 50+ yarder tonight with all this pressure of his job on the line.

Yeah that's my hope but is Harbs too stubborn to put Cundiff in that position so that he has a reason to keep him over Tucker.

Cundiff's Career FG%'s by year:

2002: 63%
2003: 79.3%
2004: 76.9%
2005: 62.5%
2006: 0% (0/1 on attempts)
2009: 78.3%
2010: 89.7%
2011: 75.7%

He's only been above 80% in one obviously flukey season. I don't understand the mindset of keeping him. Because he kicked 81% in training camp while his competition kicked over 90%?

Hopefully that new stats guy they hired has this posted on Harb's office door on cut day.

When I lived in Boston there was a popular saying 'round town when a player sucked...

I think it applies here.

F' 'EM
CUT 'EM!

Haha! Never gets old for me

If Cundiff is chosen over Tucker it'll make it obvious that the coaching staff has "favourites".

Cundiff should already be a long-shot to win (his career is awful, bar one year, he missed an easy kick, which was the biggest of his life and the fans will crucify him the second he misses a kick) and him being told that all he has to do is not screw up in the last 2 pre-season games is a joke.

I can never watch Cundiff take a field goal again. Literally. I can't look because EVERY time he steps up to kick it I think he'll miss. His confidence is gone, yet he still has the arrogance to think that the job is his (he said it in interviews).

As nice a person Billy may be, Tucker is the better kicker. Period. I can't see us winning a Super Bowl with Billy Cundiff.

What's Tucker's career FG percentage?
Tucker is 40/48 in his college career which is 83.3%.

I can't seem to find a breakdown of the distances anywhere

2010: 23/27 = 85.1%
2011: 17/21 = 80.9%

Doesnt get any bigger then this in the college ranks. He has the ability to make big kicks in front of large crowds.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnGgxBc9nAs

The team obviously had no problem parting with Lee Evans who dropped the catch in the AFC Title game so why is it so hard to cut Cundiff?

He's a vet kicker, as opposed to a rookie.

Evans was injury prone.

Evans was in a crowded wide receiver group.

There's more money invested in Cundiff than in Evans, I think.

And competition is always a good thing. There wasn't a guaranteed better kicker out there, so why get rid of him?

Despite all of these reasons, I'm on Team Tucker.

I will kick someone really hard in the shin if we start the season with Billy as our kicker. As stated before, Im sure hes a good guy, but this is a business. And he has no business kicking for a continued playoff caliber team with a career kicking percentage below 80. Freakin' 80!!!

I don't buy that one bit. As someone explained before, every player at every position is a Rookie at some point. Even if he is a rookie, if he is performing better than Cundiff, than it's an easy decision. I say it worked well starting Joe in his rookie year. Maybe the only thing at this point that would keep Tucker is a situation like Joe where Boller and Smith had issues thus forcing Joe to start. Maybe Cundiff needs to be injured for Tucker to get the job.

If it's true that it is Cundiff's job to lose than Harbs had best put him to the test. Don't send him out there to make those 33 yarders while Tucker is kicking from 50 away. Make Cundiff earn it.
