Moving To D.C. And Need Help!

6 posts in this topic

I will be moving from Tampa to DC by the end of this month and will be living on the MD side of the Potomac but still considered DC and not sure if I will be able to get Ravens games without the help of the Sunday Ticket like I have used for the past 5 years. I could save some money by going with a bundle through Comcast but don't want to risk not being able to see every Ravens game. If anybody out there that lives in the DC area that can help answer this question or guide me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated!

Many of the Ravens games will be carried in the DC area (especially all of our prime-time games) BUT there are occasional blackouts when the 'skins play at the same time.

Due to your proximity to Baltimore, though, you can pick up an amplified HD antenna at your local hardward store and pick up the games over the air.
I'm assuming those blackouts would be when the Skins play an AFC team that airs on CBS or when the Ravens play a NFC team that airs on FOX, right? My cousin lives on the eastern shore of MD and says that he gets all of the Skins games and Ravens games due to the Skins playing on Fox and the Ravens playing on CBS. Thanks for the heads up ;)

I used to live in northern Virginia and we got almost all the Ravens games there. Last season I think I only missed two or three games due to the Redskins playing. It may be a bit more competitive what with RG3 this year and all the hype over him, but you should be okay. If you want ALL the games, you'll need NFL Network and probably the Sunday Ticket though. Sad to say, I don't have NFL Network where I am so I know I'll be missing a few...
Thanks for your help. I just found out that I can get the Sunday Ticket for free because of a moving deal they have going on so I think I am just going to play it safe and bring Directtv with me.
