Ray Rice From Rutgers Rules

26 posts in this topic

So, at some stage I liked Ray Race on Facebook. Every post from this cat is either him trying to help someone, being patriotic, ant-bullying, being a man, smart/proud etc. Not often do you see a guy with that much talent be such a stand up dude. If I ever get the chance beers on me Mr. Rice.

Not really a football post, but hey.. It is the offseason.

He seems to state the obvious alot; but being a celeb means that we put him on a pedastel for not being a <jerk>. Which is fine I guess, but I'm not a dead beat dad, I dont abuse my wife/gf/S.O., and I dont use drugs, so does that mean I'm awesome too?
Well I am, but not for those reasons ;)

Agreed completely, but he isn't posting anything like that Fly - have a look:

No pedestal - just credit. He is out there using his name trying to make a difference in people's lives. I like it.

Yes you have to give Ray Rice credit for all the good he does in the community, it does mean a lot, especially for the kids.

Rice Rice seems like a good guy.

Seperate note-I wonder how many threads said the same thing in the Joepa and Tiger Woods forum 7 years ago?

Ray has lived up to his reputation, and I can only hope he will be all right in both sides of his life.

I wish Ray Rice would attend training camp and help the offense improve.

He'll get paid either way, and deserves it too.

The new Ravens and old would benefit from his positive attitude and leadership skills.

Rice hasn't said anything about holding out of camp. He has 8 days to either accept the teams offer or play under the tag. I feel because of the type of person he is, he will show up for camp ready to roll regardless of the contract situation.

Say that subject line fast four times

Add "ruh roh" and "running" in there and its nearly impossible.

Take it how you wanna, but I <3 Ray Rice.

Thank you Ravens front office for bringing one of the classiest men in the NFL to Baltimore.

My 10 year old was one of the kids lucky enough to attend his camp at Calvert Hall this year. Let me tell you a little about what happened that day. There was a special needs child in the crowd. The kids were not allowed to bring items to sign. Ray provided the kids with a gift bag and inside was a signed photo of him. He went over during the event and spent time with this child. He hung out with him. He signed his jersey and told him at the end of camp he was going to sign his cleats and give them to him. He took time to spend one on one time with this child and make him feel special. If you go to his fb page you will see photos of the day and you will be able to see the child I am speaking of. Ray has a big heart.

This event was for the kids and he gave 110% to them all day long. It was a moment my son and I'm sure all the others will never forget. He came home and said, "I got to high 5 Ray Rice Mom!" He went into that crowd of kids and spent time with them. He didn't do it 5 feet back behind a rope. He made them all feel special. I love his messages on fb. I think he is a great role model to the youth of Baltimore. For the record he was also talking that day about how much he loved Baltimore and wanted to bring the Lombardi home this year. I do believe he wants to play here long term.

Ray Rice is a classy dude, and a great role model. He's a great runningback and it's safe to assume he's an excellent teammate.

Things like this are why its so frustrating that his contract isn't done yet.

This may shock you but despite my ramblings I root for him to do well as I do every Raven. Nothing would make me happeir than to come here with my tail between my legs next Febuary after watching him hoist the Lombardi and get an internet beatdown. :football:

I have also liked Ray on FB. He is a great guy. His devotion to helping others and to his mother is inspiring to say the least. I really don't understand how some people are hostile to him about his contract negotiations. In light of Peterson's recent arrest and subsequent media blitz, who would you rather sink $10 million a year on?
