Nash to the Lakers- this is a massive upgrade at the PG position for them in a very long time. Yea he wont be able to stop westbrook, but who can? Now with nash the lakers have a great chance to compete with the thunder but i still dont think they can take them in a 7games series. nash will make others around him better and if bynum doesnt get traded, he better stay consistant, thats the difference maker.

Allen to Heat- I called this a long time ago. It sucks to see ray leave boston (im a Cs fan) but i understand it. he took less money to go play with a contender while he can make a big difference. Even if he comes off the bench hes a difference maker.

Kid to the knicks- great move, hopefully they keep lin and he can learn behind kid. The team is stacked but they have to learn how to play team ball, kidd will help with that. They wont get anywhere by playing "get the ball to mello and everyone get out of the way".

The Dwight howard situation- the best move for the magic is to take what the nets are offering:lopez, and three first round picks...that right there is worth it. Your still getting a big man and a potential superstar chance the next three years. I wouldnt touch bynum with a ten foot pole if i were the magic. Over the last four seasons hes averaged 50 games a year, hes immature, inconsistent, and has attitude problems. I think its a no brainer to take the nets offer.

Love the Heat getting Allen... not thrilled about Rashard Lewis, but he's a nice player that will play a nice bench role.

Well if he keeps going like he is...

He'll find himself in a van down by the river- in my Best Chris Farley voice

Same here.
I don't know how they would pull it off though, I know the deal would revolve around Bynum.

Lol. Dwight is an idiot though. He could've been a free agent this summer if he didn't opt in with Orlando.

Yeah and I believe Bynum would go to Houston. Idk why Orlando's FO is dragging this out for.

I'm still trying to figure out why the Lakers would want a tiny center with a bad back and a poor offensive game.

The lakers want great athletes. That's all. I would rather have bynum in the long run though

That's my point. In the end, I'd rather keep Bynum. His knees are as much if not more in question than D12's back at this point. Plus he's a lot bigger, is younger, still developing, and is already better offensively. And Bynum might stick around in LA after the season. Dwight has already said that he won't.

If the Lakers get Dwight game over.
[/quote]

If the Lakers get Dwight, the Magic are dumb. Bynum is immature, and inconsistent. While yes, he does have time to improve, i dont think he would sign a long-term contract with them and stay with them through their rebuilding process.

So the only thing the Magic would have to look forward to in a trade is the draft picks they get.

Lakers don't have any to deal...I agree Magic would be dumb, but maybe Bynum would feel motivation on top of that to get his act together?

Maybe they could try and work something out with the Pistons where Detriot gets Bynum and Gasol, Magic get Drummond and some of the pistons draft picks and future picks of LA, & Lakers get Dwight.
Just a thought.

Houston should try to facilitate the deal, as some rumors have suggested. They can provide the cap relief the Magic want while grabbing Bynum. If Lin is the real deal, which personally I doubt but the jury is still out, they would be a playoff team with that duo. The Lakers will win with or without Dwight though, and I'd rather keep Bynum still.

The Lakers did add some solid bench depth with Jamison though. If they can get a decent outside shooter they will be in business.

Surprisingly, I'm quite happy Dallas signed Mayo. Losing Terry was tough, but Mayo is young, has tremendous potential, and can really turn it around in a new area and situation.

Collison, Kaman, Brand, Jones, and Mayo was huge for us. I'm cool now with Kidd riding his hover round to New York.... even if he crashed it along the way. Losing out on Williams was tough, but I'm feeling better now. The Mavs stay open when it comes to salary next year, perhaps we'll land a star then.

It's been said the new Magic GM is not looking to acquire Bynum because he doesn't want to worry about if he'll commit or not. I think it's pretty much confirmed the Magics are looking for recent draftees, picks, and cap relief. Houston would be a great team to get a deal done with since they have the ammo to get the deal through. The best thing to hope for as a Magics fan.

Lin chased the money and I cant blame him. He knows the odds are against him.

I guess the Rockets plan is that Lin will bring in alot of money. ?

So it seems the NBA, shockingly, is hurting for money since they've approved "small" ad patches on jerseys this year. So now everytime Griffin dunks, we can get an urge to buy a new Sony product or what have you. They figure to make $100 million with the ads.

It won't be long before NBA jerseys look like those in the European leagues.

I just want to throw this out there.

If the Magic lost Dwight, I guarantee the Magic get the #1 pick.

I know football is going on, but a four team deal to send Dwight Howard to the Lakers has apparently been finalized. If I read it right, they didn't lose Gasol for it either. On paper, the Lakers are easily the best in the NBA right now if they weren't before.
