I usually look to see if they still have all their teeth...or if their hound dog is sitting next to them in the front seat with a gun rack in the window.

Whenever there is alcohol involved, the real a--es show up. You'll get this at every stadium. Look on the bright side, at least we do not pour used beer on people like they do in Philly.

Every game I have been to there has always been one or two idiots that cause trouble/make a scene and are eventually ejected... Every time, alcohol has been involved <_<

I don't recall if it was baseball, football or both, but I heard that in Philly they had a judge in the stadium to arraign people on the spot who were arrested for their behavior. Could be an urban legend, but I am pretty sure I read about in the newspaper.

Maybe it's like dog owners who have pets that resemble them in some way. Ugly is as ugly does.

I'd like to interrupt this "love fest" and remind you that this is a "no smack" forum. It isn't fair to rip the fans of other teams and then not allow them to rip back. Please confine your comments to the subject of the thread.

Thanks.

It was Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia. Definitely not an urban legend, just pure fact.
They also had it in the Linc, but did away with it after awhile....when fans behaviour became less unruly. They had a judge and jail cells on the premises.

Like the Vet, Lincoln Financial Field had a jail inside the stadium, that contained four cells. However, this jail was done away within two years as the level of unruly behavior had dropped considerably from the worst days of the Vet.

link

The rowdy fan behavior became so violent -- the 700 level of the Vet makes Raider Nation look like a tea party -- that the city was forced to permanently assign a Common Pleas Court judge to the Vet on game day. Judge Seamus McCaffery handed out fines and jail time -- while the game was going on! -- in a make-shift courtroom in the basement of the Vet, the only stadium in league history with a judge on the premises to process the criminal element in the stands.

What I can't understand is people who come to a game wearing a THIRD team's gear. On Sunday I saw two morons in Steelers jerseys. Why? Are they not aware that the Ravens were not playing the Steelers that day? I told them both they'd better hurry as the Pitt game was a good 3 1/2 hour drive away and kicked off at 4pm.

As a Ravens fan, if I were to go to, say, a Redskins v Giants game, I'd wear neutral colors (and secretly cheer on the Giants, obviously). It baffles me what's going through people's heads when they decide to wear a different team's jersey to M & T, other than the fact that they have obvious self-esteem issues and require attention to validate their sad lives.

Maybe those guys you saw in the Steelers jerseys should have got together with the two dudes I saw wearing Eli Manning jerseys in the tailgate lot?

Whats worse is when theyre wearing a different SPORTS jersey... I was at an Oriole game this summer and saw a guy with a white Witten jersey, and another guy with a Green Favre jersey i was like

This is one reason why if I go to the ravens redskins game this season I won't let my little brother wear his randel el jersey(He's a redskins fan  ) because I'm worried that someone might toss something at him.
Are you serious?! WHAT DO YOU EXPECT WHEN YOU GO TO ANOTHER TEAMS HOME STADIUM? i mean I WOULD NEVER go to any stadium and expect to get treated like home team fans!!!Honestly I was sitting next to decent raiders fans.. & of course I was talking some trash but we were getting along fine..

Maybe they were just pissed that they looked like retards dressed in their oakland clothes when they lost as badly as they did!!!
Yeah I am serious. Talking trash is part of Football if you ask me, but talking trash and being a jerk are different. All I'm saying is if you chose to go to a away game you should be treated like a football fan. Who would go to a away game and expect to be treated like a home team fan? @#%&#^! You should at least be treated with the respect that you would give to anyone in general. I think you are missing the point!

I agree, you for example, go to a game in Pittsburgh with your child, decked out in Ravens gear and act respectful for the Steelers, the fans around you and the stadium you should have no problem at all and fans should just ignore your presence. Now, if you start causing a scene, swearing cursing the Steelers and fans around in their house then that is a another story.

there is a lot to this thread that makes me both sad and ashamed.

Trash talk and team bashing is all part of the game. You cant avoid it.
Personal attacks either verbal or physical ( beer splashing is a physical attack ) is 100% uncalled for and imature. Calling the players all the names in the book, fine. The fans? Pure BS. I dont care if they started it. I dont care what they called you or your Mom, this is not elementery school, it is a sporting event in a public location.
When this stuff escalades 95% of the time it is due to a personal attack.
Simple manners is a nice way to avoid that.

Take a lesson from the field. Someone like Hines Ward talks some trash about a DB's mom, the DB nails him and gets the PF. The second guy always gets the flag. Ignore the trash and if it gets out of hand, call over a stadium official and lay the "jerk" flag on him. Your get to watch the game in peace, be the hero of yoru section, while the name calling idiot is on his way home.
