I love empty statements like this.

Yeah let me go download every game for the last 10 years. After I watch 500+ hours of game film at take notes, I will come back with a comphrehensive list... I'll get right on that

Most people who watch football dont even know whats going on. If you watch the games last year, and pay attention (I was at every home game and also watched each game at home on tape) you would clearly see Reed has regressed.

........ at tackling and he even acknowledged that too with the injuries and all. As far as coverage, he might not be the Ed Reed of 04 but the Ed Reed of 12 is still better than any safety I know at being able to anticipate where the QB is going with the ball and he still can play sideline to sideline. Name a safety who does it better than Ed in coverage? Just to name one of the games, against the Niners Ed impact was major as Vernon Davis was pretty much shut out that game. It showed replays of that game and you would think that Smith could zip the ball into a window to hit Davis and as you keep looking at the play break down, you would see Ed hovering above thus a lot of sacks coming about that game.

I wish we could actually look at the game tape of these games and see how many times Ed has taken away the QBs first read or hot read and we would really see just how valuable Ed is. Its not all about a lot of interceptions with Ed even though we have become spoiled by it so a lot of fans that I would say don't know the X's and O's of the game would say Ed is having a bad year or he has regressed.

Calm down man, eat a Snickers or something and calm down. Months later all will be forgotten and him missing 3 days of mandatory minicamp ( missing 3 days of minicamp ain't that serious man no matter how you cut it ) will be an afterthought. Sure, he should have contacted Harbs and let him know that he would be a no show but he didn't, life goes on. I'm pretty sure he will eventually apologize to Harbs on down the road but to be making this any bigger than what it isn't is absurd!

That eat a snickers was pretty classic.

On this subject at least, You are out of your mind. Sorry.
[/quote]

On this subject, some people think future HoFers can do whatever and it's fine. If Flacco had done this, everyone would be ripping him a new one.

And, I was speaking directly to the poster's saying "oh look, Reed called out all you haters on Twitter" about REAL Ravens' fans. So if we disagree with what Reed did we aren't real Ravens' fans, and, apparently, according to you, out of our mind.

Sorry. Skipping camp was fine. Not giving the organization a heads' up was not. Playing word games in the media, which means with the fans as well, was not. It was childish. And his tweet is just as childish.

Ain't that the truth!

I think this post sums up the situation. Lets put the thread to rest now.

Lots of different perspectives on this, but I'm not going to be critical of one of the best players to ever play the game because he chose to skip a mini-camp. I think we can all agree that it's not a big deal to skip. If you guys want to get all upset because he didnt call so be it. I think it's silly.

To all the fans of Ed reed including nay sayers and recent Ed Reed haters, rest easy now! Ed Reed is at the facility and geared to have the season of his life.

While I am glad that he is here and ready to play, he did make my heart miss a few beats earlier in the pre-season. However, I always believed Ed Reed would show up to play. My intuition proved right and for that I am very pleased. What I wasn't happy about was the amount of vitriol being spewed on the message boards mostly knee jerk reactions and outbursts at the prospect of Ed Reed really not showing up or retiring. Now we can all rest easy that the greatest safety to lace up is back to play for the Ravens!

How do you feel now that he is back? Be honest with your opinions please.

I feel relieved. I have a nice, warm, and fuzzy feeling. I'm happy he showed up.

Even though we have been upset at Ed about not showing up for Mandatory camp, I think we all knew he would show up for TC and be ready to go and get ready for this season.

One last comment on this. Hi Ed, do you see how webb got excused for family reasons?? yeah, take a lesson out of his book, and no one could have said anything.

"Lardarius Webb was not here on a personal issue at home," Harbaugh said. "No problem, just something he had to take care of at home with his son."

Thats how to do it ed...

If you cant go, you cant go, just call in...

Ya him not showing up was bogus and Im wondering what he thinks his worth is at this point in his career! Hes still one of the best but age and injuries catches up to all, And with all those talks about retireing im sure the organization is a little spooked about him.
