Top 5 Players In The Nba Right Now?

36 posts in this topic

This is a discussion i was having with some friends. I asked them who they think are the top 5 players in the NBA right now and i just wanted to know what you guys think. I want to know if my friends are biased because we live in miami or if I'm actually wrong.

My list:
1. Kevin Durant
2. LeBron James
3. Derrick Rose
4. Dwight Howard
5. Dwayne Wade

Pretty hard to argue with that list, except I'd have LeBron #1. Any new faces to the top 5 would probably go along fan lines - Kevin Love, Kobe Bryant, Dirk Nowitski, Kevin Durant, Tyson Chandler, Chris Paul.

He's got a bright future, but he's not even a top 10 PG right now.

1) LeBron James
2) Kevin Durant
3) Dwight Howard
4) Dwyane Wade
5) Chris Paul

I'd take Pau Gasol, Randolph, Josh Smith and David West over Duncan at this point.

Stoudemire, Jefferson, Cousins, Hibbert, Monroe and Bogut are all better centers than Noah and Perkins.

Chris Paul
Dwayne Wade
Kevin Durant
Lebron James
Dwight Howard

I felt it was better to a starting top 5 than best players cause... Idk.. Paul I think is the best pg, Wade if not best is a top 3 guard and debatable top 3-5 player in the league, Durant and James are obvious and Dwight for now unless Bynum shows he's serious about being great. Ibaka could develop into a super star PF if he keeps elevating his offensive game. I also think another young star could be Iman Shumpert(I'm a Knicks fan).

Watch out for the timbrwolves next year! If Derrick Williams and Michael Beasly become the players I think they'll be, then they'll have a very good starting 5.

1) Lebron
2) Durant
3) Kobe
4) CP3
5) D-Will

I left Rose and Howard off the list because I dont know what they will look like after coming off injury. Pre-injury they would be 4 and 5 for me.

Always funny how he was ten times cockier than Lebron could ever be and yet everyone adores him and could never say any wrong of him...

Just a thought

Yeah, perhaps..."not3, not 4, not 5....". Hahahahahahaha!

Jordan has, 3, has 4, has 5....oh yeah, has 6. I have nothing against Lebron, but that was just dumb bringing Lebron directly into a Jordan post.

Lol I like stirring debate.. And was directing towards the personality side not necessarily "player" side...

I just find it funny how much people hate Lebron

I wanted them to beat Boston. I like James, I love me some DWade, but the "Decision" (not to beat a dead horse, but Im late to the party here) and the stupid press conference afterwards was about as narcissistic as Ive ever seen from a professional athlete. And, given the company, thats a big statement!

I actually used to hate Lebron more than I do now. This past season and playoffs he has garnered some respect.

I used to hate him because a) he would knock out the Wizards seemingly every year and b.) He has always been super whiny.

The Decision re-invigorated my hate because I saw at as a cop-out and a weak move by the supposed best player in the league. The way he gave up in the 09' and 10' playoffs also made me lose respect.

I still think he is somewhat of a front-runner, but he has stepped up huge this postseason so I have started to cut him some slack. He is a great player, but he needs to win a ring and he needs to do it soon.

D-rose cause his age.

Ha, makes completely no sense with your rationale. "Cause [of] his age"? Durant is the same age...

I live in South Florida, a majority of Heat hate comes from bandwagon, front running fans who didn't give a damn when Wade alone carried this team. I respected Wade as a player til this season because when he fell to the floor it actually use to be off contact. Now you have one of the most athletic, and 2 of the top 5 players in the league on a team with the first player/mascot in Bosh, to compose a Big 3 that's demanding respect before they've accomplished anything together as a team. The parade was over the top, though I understand it was for the "fans", but they could have gone about it differently. I wanted them to team up together, and wish it was in NY, but what happened after and some of the stuff LeBron said before is what rubs people the wrong way, PAUSE. The King James thing always irked me, though I respected his play and the "I spoil them with my play" after a loss isn't a way to endear yourself to the public. Honestly, most of it comes from the fact a lot Miami fans are now just as bad as Boston or Steelers fans, MINUS THE RINGS. I wouldn't mind Lebron winning a ring and predicted him to win 2(after they teamed up), but at the same time wouldn't mind if he went down like the 90s Bills making the Finals consecutive times to never bring home the hardware.
