Dec 14 Steelers At Ravens

4 posts in this topic

This is the first time ever that I will be seeing any NFL game, let alone seeing the Ravens, THE team Ive been fanatical about since Ray Lewis joined them in 1996.
Me and my brother have 2 tix SECTION 126 ROW 5 and theres just some stuff I gotta do that weekend.
What's NOT to get psYked about?

Im from Edmonton, Canada. We dont have tailgating in Canada. What do I have to know about tailgating? Can I just walk thru and smell all that great stuff even if I dont have a truck?

What is the best way to get player autographs? Parking lot? Stadium dressing area?

what part of the stadium is that, freeway in the background?

Best eats in Baltimore area? Seafood

What are the best Friday, Saturday, Sunday night watering holes in the Harbour area and close to stadium, a little more on the casual side - stiff drinks and eye candy?

Best stuff to see and do, non-football?

Is there a Ravens store or fame wall or something like that?

Best stuff to see'n'do in DC?

Yes -- the first thing that hits you around the stadium is the smell of charred animal flesh. Sometimes you will run into fried oysters and crabcakes. There's an abundance of food and drink throughout the lettered stadium lots. Try the walk between the two stadiums -- Eutaw Street Promenade - for food and drink for sale.

Not much on autographs, but some people get them post-game where the players leave the stadium post-game. That location is per your photo, near Gate C. Light rail viaduct is in the background -- I-395 viaduct is behind it.

See my write-up in the Navy-Notre Dame thread.

There are dozens of places that meet that description. Closest are the bars around the Cross Street Market area, also very lively post-game. The Fells Point area (not walking distance) is the most concentrated, but it's very crowded on weekend nights. Inner Harbor area (includes world's first ESPN Grill) is more touristy.

There is a Ravens store inside the Stadium. There is also one at the Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards, which is adjacent to the B&O Warehouse (right field of the baseball stadium). The museum is worth spending a few hours.

See monuments, I guess. Can't think of any other reason to fight Redskins fans and traffic to go down there. Georgetown is OK for night life, but doesn't compare to Fells Point.

Your time would be better spent looking at Colts and Ravens exhibits at the Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards, eh?

I don't think I can really add anything except ENJOY THE GAME!!! Make sure you are in your seats at least 30 minutes before game time. The Ravens do a nice job with the pre-game. You picked a great game and great seats for your first time. And when the Ravens kick the living you know what out of the Steelheads, it will be an even more special.
