McAdoo still weighs 245? Torn Achilles Tendon?

66 posts in this topic

Just read the article on him on br.com and I am totally disappointed he is still the same weight he joined the ravens at. I was hoping he would be at least 260. What was the kid doing all year?

I'm not worried about his weight. He's still getting used to the game again, so to have to get used to a new weight at the same time might be too much. If he has to gain 15 pounds, that wouldn't be asking too much even before the season.

“@RavensInsider: Ravens outside linebacker-defensive end Michael McAdoo tore his Achilles tendon Thursday and had surgery today, according to sources”
“@RavensInsider: With Michael McAdoo having a torn Achilles tendon, given the timing, it's expected to be a season-ending injury, per sources.”

Aaron Wilson reported McAdoo done for the year

We're down another pass rusher!

Do we go into the FA market now - is there anyone even out there? Are there any other LBers on the roster besides Upshaw, Kruger, Kindle, and McClellan that can rush the passer? I was actually excited to see what McAdoo would do.

Crud. That's a big setback for him.

You mean besides the four players you mentioned? That's pretty deep, I doubt we were counting on McAdoo and I'm sure there's nothing out there this late that would significantly help us.

Oh yeah I understand. I was looking at McClellan as a swing between OLB/ILB/DE, but it looks like he'll have to remain exclusively at OLB now. I still think we'll need more than 4 guys at OLB though. I figured there was nothing out there in the FA market.

Anyone know anything about this Nigel Carr guy? I heard he looked pretty good, but I have no clue if he's ILB or OLB.

He's an ILB guy. I think 4 is good, but we're getting thin now. We can move Parmele or someone like that outside.

We need offense this season.

Still have 3 Pass Rushers, and the fact we lost Suggs and now McAdoo and we still have 3 pass rushers in Upshaw, Kindle and Kruger shows exactly how much DEPTH we have at OLB.

This is ridiculous. Can we not catch a break here? I mean, come on now. This is getting ridiculous. I better not see a third Achilles injury.

I am really upset about this. I was excited for McAdoo.

And really? We have great depth at OLB? I mean, I am a big fan of our team, too, but let's just look at the depth we have:

1. Paul Kruger: Yes, he does look good as a pass-rusher but he is very unproven. Still, I like the idea of seeing what he has.
2. Courtney Upshaw: rookie, unproven, unknown. I like him, and he has tons of potential. I am excited for him. But really? Even if he and Kruger start opposite of each other, you have two brand new pass-rushers on our team. Neither of them started last year. That's a little scary. Sure, it was OK last year to an extent with our secondary, but we had Suggs who helped a lot I think.
3. Sergio Kindle: Really? I love Kindle as much as the next guy, but he is in no way to be counted on as depth for us people HERE as of this moment since we have no idea what he has. Granted, the FO may feel different and I hope Kindle is a crazy good player. But really, we have nobody after Kruger and Upshaw, and even those two are big question marks.
4. Terrell Suggs: He will be back, but will he be back? I doubt it, and even then it won't be until later in the year.
5. Albert McClellan: He's a good player, and I think he could surprise some of us similar to Williams last year. I have some hopes for him, more than Kindle honestly.

I understand not a lot of teams have this kind of depth that we do, but that's what makes a Super Bowl team--depth. The Giants had a litany of pass-rushers and it helped big time. Sure, they also had Manning and some great WRs with a decent run game.

I really believe the Ravens should get Carter if he looks good. There's another guy, too. I just forgot his name.

So now he's going to enter 2013 camp having only played one game of football in like the past 3/4 years and he'll be coming off a serious injury. That's gotta suck for him.

Boy oh Boyyyyyy!!! I am just sick about this...I've seen this kid play and his talent was real. This kid had the potential to be a huge asset for us this season, this is just disheartening.
McAdoo best of luck in your rehabilitation and healing...I am pulling for ya!

P.S. Note to the conditioning staff: Stretch, warm ups, stretch, warm ups, stretch, warm ups... just sayin'!

Dang that's rough. I feel bad for the guy. I remember hearing Upshaw being excited about playing with him again. Such a tough break.

this really is a blow, I think this guy could have had a nice impact on defense this year in passing situations....what a shame..now this will be three years he's been out of football...his days as a Raven may be over unless they keep him on IR and give him 1 more shot next year

They're obviously going to keep him on IR.

Feel really bad for him...to work your whole life for a certain goal and then have injuries basically curtail that year after year. There is a chance (a big chance) he never plays football in the NFL.

Wishing you a full recovery and heres to hoping tou have a backup plan!
