Give That Man His Money!

24 posts in this topic

T. Sizzle is making it HOT all over the field right now. He is stepping his game up at DE and OLB. You always see Suggs use his speed rush on the outside but Sunday he broke out the Bull Rush pushing the Offensive linemen in the backfield for a sack. Plus he his a offensive master mind coming up with the WildBird (Suggs Package). We are going to have to find a way to get him his money for next year! What do you think!

GO RAVENS !!! :D

He is a young talent, and he deserves the money he will get. Especially the way he is playing this year. But the desire is not only one-sided. Suggs also needs to agree to an amount and has to want to play for us. As it were last year, the rumors were that he really wanted to play in Arizona. This could be a big factor in determining whether he wants to be a Raven or not next year. I'm sure we are going to offer him a healthy contract extension, we'll have to see if he's interested.

I hope he keeps it up, it's funny how so many play well in a contract year and then fall off if they get resigned!

exactly, he also only had 5 sacks last year. Hopefully he can stay charged up the whole year, and into the next 5 years if he gets re-signed. I like sizzle, but there is some money we need to cut for next year if we plan on getting a big play WR, maybe Bart will be the man left out, who knows

Well I hope he doesnt try and ask for a crapload of money after this season. Were really going to need the cap space next season.

3 people Id like to see in Ravens jerseys next season

Ray Lewis
Terrell Suggs
Bart Scott

Those guys are the heart of our defense. They are our main Line Backing core. 2 of em arent in their 30s while the other still plays like hes 26.
I really want to see em here still.

I don't know if it's a matter of Baltimore not offering him good money as much as it is Suggs not yet deciding on if he wants to be a Raven long term. The Ravens tried to negotiate with him multiple times during the offseason but no new contract has come from it. I think it's unfair to assume the FO isn't trying to keep him after losing AD going into last season.

I COULD NOT agree with you MORE. I would be devestated if any 3 of these guys leave.

Suggs seem like he has the desire to stay here. When you grow with a group, you tend to want to stay in that group especially when it is a good group. But at the end of the day this is a business! if you have a job and you are making $50,000.00 a year but you could get $100.000.00 across the street for the same job where r u going to go?

I dont think those rumors were true at all. He was asked about his possible free agency and the Cardinals specifically pursuing him. Was he supposed to say no, I'd hate to play in Arizona? This is a bussiness, players are never and should never say anything negative about a team when asked a question like that because there may come a time, when that is the only team willing to emply them.

I dont think it can be said that the FO isnt trying to keep him but I would believe that the two sides were very far away in terms of "compensation". I also dont think we can honestly question whether Suggs wants to be here. There were rumors that they were close to a deal but it didnt get done because of the deadline.

He is definetly worth some money in this defense but will get more money in a defense that he won't make as much of an impact in. IMO our defense seems to make players better then they would be in another defense. I am not saying he isn't talented because I love T-Sizzle and his attitude but without the rest of our playmakers he might end up just another good LB/DE, but with us he is real good and has the potential to be dominate. This is a huge off-season for us and could determine whether or not we turn into the Super Bowl contending Dynasty Coach Harbaugh has mentioned.

We've got Antwaan Barnes, Gooden, and McClain waiting in the wings. Everyone keep complaing about us not having offensive weapons, well its because we dedicate so much money to the defensive side of the ball. If we keep all 3 of those guys we are not going to be able to upgrade anything else on this team. I know we all love all 3 of them but at some point we have to stop thinking about how much we love one guy and start thinking about the team as a whole. We've got young linebackers that are more then capable of replacing one of them and thats what needs to happen. If we are going to make the neccessary changes to improve this team.

I haven't seen much from Antwan Barnes lately...has he been injured, is he still raw, what happened? i thought from last season he'd definitely be more of a part of this defense, maybe not... But i think McClain (LB) has shown some nice performance the past 2 games, and i think he's still young, worth giving a chance.

He's been out there. I've seen him held up at the LOS a few times, if you know what I mean.

I, also would like to see the three players you mentioned re-signed next season. Ray is the heart and soul of our defense and Scott and T-Sizzle are close seconds. I'd like for Suggs to keep his mouth shut and just play football, hopefully as good as he played yesterday! GO RAVENS

What worries me is that he is playing for a big extension with Baltimore or a mega deal somewhere else. Whats to say his play will reach a downfall again like last season?

These are the type of risks you have to take now a days with these ridiculous contracts. Do we have a back-up, capable of doing half the things Suggs has done this year, or is their a can't miss 3-4 OLB prospect in the draft that can mimic Suggs?

If it was up to me, I would sign him to the deal, just because I don't see many people in the league who can play a role like Suggs, or a college player who can morph into a Suggs like player.

Suggs just has that natural ability and talent to get it done...heck, he wasn't even in training camp, and he's a beast...either that's good work ethic o/side of the Ravens, or that's just plain good skills, or it's a combo. either way Suggs is too valuable to lose.

i agree with you, suggs is becoming very important to baltimore and the D ..of course he's STILL not ray lewis. but if he keeps playing @ this level he sure can earn his respect.

My view on this is that Suggs CHOSE to spend his time and energy fighting over the way he was Tagged as opposed to getting a long term deal done. If he was that worried about a long term deal, imo, then the franchise tag wouldn't have been needed let alone time spent worried about how he was tagged....

I would definatly invest in keeping Sizzle here and I think he wants to stay in Baltimore. I think after this year he will have more of a reason to stay due to the comradery with the team right now and the direction their headed. The Ravens are a quality franchise and only looks to improve, who doesn't want to be a part of that? :)

I think Suggs sitting out was all part of the little mind game he and his agent played. Suggs and his agent knew he didn't have his best year, and that if he had a bounce back year like this season, he would get a bigger deal with more guaranteed money. Its a smart ploy, but with everything, it could have backfired.
