2012 NBA Mock Draft

13 posts in this topic

With the draft order now set, here come the mocks...

The horribly unlucky Bobcats along with Michael Jordan missed out on the overall #1 selection(Anthony Davis) to the New Orleans Hornets. (Good for the city of N.O.)

They had the best odds to win the draft lottery, and still blew it. lol.
...they do have the number 2 though, but missing out on Davis really hurts them..

So here is my first NBA Mock draft..ever... So without further ado!

Hornets- Anthony Davis (Clear #1 talent in draft. Also a position of need for N.O. Nothing needs to be said, his greatness speaks for him self. Really needs to shave his unibrow though.....)

Bobcats- Thomas Robertson (IMO him and Davis aren't to far apart, freak of nature, great rebounder, 2nd best available in my eyes)

Wizards- Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (I kind of root for Wizards since they're local, but not really lol. So I really hope that they can get Robertson here. If not Gilchrist I think would fit perfect with the Wizards. If not TR or MKG then Bradley Beal would make a lot of sense here for their lack of shooters.) Wizards 5 could look like...Wall/Gilchrist/Nene/Vesley/? ....Still desperately need a SG. A lot of needs.

Cavaliers- Bradley Beal ( Beal + Irving would be great...I think. I'm not sure if they can flow together. Irving is a all around player but mostly a scorer. That may just be because he's on the Cavs but I'm still not sure if he can be the distribution type of PG. Beal is a very good shooter. I think it could work, just have to see it first.

Kings- Harrison Barnes (Kings need a SF, and Barnes is the best available player, as well as best available SF.

Blazers- Jeremy Lamb (They need a SG here.... They also need a C but any C right here would be a reach. (Exception for Drummond) So they take Lamb who I think will be the next Nick Young.(Not saying that much)

Warriors- Jarred Sullinger (...Watch out for them Warriors next year, they have a pretty good team. I still don't understand the Ellis trade, but whatevs. They take their biggest postion of need, BPA, work in progress, low risk high reward player. JS would do great for their defense, and would fit right in their with Lee.)

Raptors- Austin Rivers ( High risk, high reward type player. I don't think he's ready for the NBA yet but it could pay off in the future.. For some reason I see the Raptors taking this type of Risk.

Pistons- Andre Drummond (With Wallace retiring they're going to need a big physical freak C. So if Drummond is still here when they pick, this makes the most sense to me. There are concerns though about him that he runs out of gas to quick, doesn't drive hard enough. But I think he will get better over time, just like most rookies who are this physically gifted.)

Hornets- Dion Waiters ( Hornets just got their big man earlier in the draft, now they need their little PG back. Yes. CP3 jr. Lol. Only 6'4 he's considered to small and risky to be an effective NBA PG. Well the dude is an agressive scorer, and he don't back down from anyone! I think the Hornets will be back on the map after next year when their stars start to shine. (I wonder if CP3 regrets asking to be traded from there now?) :D

Blazers-Damian Lillard (PG)
Bucks- Perry Jones III (SF)
Suns-Meyers Leonard ©
Rockets-Tyler Zeller ©
76ers- John Henson(PF)

Lalalalalal I don't really care about the rest, plus I'm tired and have no clue how the rest could go...

Rockets-
Mavs-
Timberwolves-
Magic-
Nuggets-
Celtics-
Celtics-
Hawks-
Cavs-
Grizzlies-
Pacers-
Heat- Fab Melo.
Thunder-
Bulls-
Warriors-

I don't follow the NBA but man everyone is complaining and saying it was fixed that New Orleans would get the # 1 Pick in the lottery and that it was part of the sale to Tom Benson.

I don't mind that they have a lottery but they should at least say the Top 3 or 5 teams with the worst record are automatically slotted 1-3 or 1-5 in the Draft Order with the Lottery used to determine 6-30.

Not bad.. I could give a more detailed answer later but I don't see perry jones III falling that far along with Andre Drummond and John Henson.

I see both of them going higher.. I guess I'll try and do my own sooner or later

Yeah, I don't like how the lotto is set up. It's exciting but it screws certain teams.

I could see both Drummond and Jones going any where from 6 through 10. Especially Drummond, the Blazers could really use him.

Dion Waiters will be good and I hope he goes to the Timberwolves so they can get even more SU players. I don't think Fab Melo should have come out this year. He has no real offensive game and could turn into Hasheem Thabbet (I know I probably spelled that wrong but you know who I am talking about). If he goes to a team that will develop him he could become good and the Heat are a good fit for that because he won't have to score and can help them inside on D.

I reallyyyyy hope the Wizards get Beal. I'm a fan of the wizards as well because they are local. There'e no point in going after MKG now cause we just made the trade with NO to get Ariza and Okafor. a starting 5 of Wall/Beal/Ariza/Okafor/Nene would be nice. Obviously, i don't think we would be in playoff talk for another year or two, but thats still a pretty good 5.

I've heard that the Bobcats may wanna trade down, and the Cavs will trade up from #4 (and grab Beal), so if that happens, i guess we'll get either Robertson or MKG.

Even after the trade I want the wizards to draft MKG.

I know SG is a HUGE need for us but I rather have Gilchrist who I think is a sure thing star. I'm not the hugest Beal fan but after reading and watching more about him, he's starting to grow on me.
I'd still prefer Robertson and MKG over him, but with either one I guess we can't lose.
I think a 5 of Wall/Beal/Okafor/Ariza/Nene could make the playoffs as a 7 or 8 seed. The Eastern conference isn't that strong, besides the Heat of course.

I think this trade will help out Wall ALOT. He finally has pieces to dish it to. If Beal and Ariza can be our scorers we will be in good shape. Our defense could be top 5 next year maybe.

Hopefully Vesely will develope his shooting soon, that way if we don't like Ariza or Okafor we can just cut them after next year, save money and move forward with the young guy.

I'm pretty excited about the draft and to see what will happen.

I might officially become a wizard fan. Lol.

I agree with your take on Beal. I really like MKG, but Beal has a much higher ceiling as a scorer which the Wiz really need. He is an athletic SG who can drive and shoot the lights out. I see Eric Gordon like potential in him.

Yeah agreed. Everyone says Beal could be a Ray Allen type player someday, and that has me excited. I really like MKG, especially with all the stuff he's had to overcome. And i heard he's an amazing person because of it. It's definitely like a "feel-good" story. I just think Beal would fit better in the group of players we have now.

EDIT: I just read on twitter, that if the cavs ( or anyone else for that matter) trade up to #2 to grab Beal, we are most likely taking MKG.
