Who Is The Most Invisible Raven?

42 posts in this topic

A starter, or someone in rotation with the starters, because backups are to too invisible to talk about sadly. Besides maybe Mcclain since he has a reasonable excuse for being a backup.

My first response has to be someone on the Oline, they're more invisible than most. But, dunno I can think of a few whom seem more invisible than the Oline, who do you think is the most invisible raven?

Ray Lewis probably....

lol jk

I'd say players like Terrence Cody or Cory Redding (even tho he's gone), and this is speaking of the better starters, no hate

Nobody talks enough about Cary Williams.

Probably because the attention is to Lardarius Webb and our 1st rounder Jimmy Smith.

Terence Cody

When he does his job well then his comrades rack up the sexy sacks and the flashy tackles for loss

If he does badly it'll be noticed as we get slashed up the middle but when he does well it goes unseen

Nature of the position

When he was on the field last season (mostly goaline), I think it was Kris Wilson. Now I think it's Cody. And I believe Cody definitely needs to improve his technique and learn how to use his size to his full advantage. Hopefully a full offseason will do this.

I'll definitely say Cody. Whether it's a 3-4 NT or 4-3 Defensive Tackles, they go unnoticed unless they screw up and a running back is running all over them. I mean overall in the NFL the Defensive Tackle or NT position go unnoticed the most.

Cody knows in his heart he kinda disappeared last season. I really expect that to change this year. He already says he feels stronger.

On a serious note, I'm gonna go with Morgan Cox. He has been nothing short of great in his time here, and he never gets credit since he's only a long snapper.

Awesome choice. We all forget about him. We normally only hear about the long-snapper when he screws up.

I was actually going to say Cox myself. They are so critical to the success of field goals, and we all saw in the playoffs how important a field goal is.

He did well last season
Good special teamer, played some snaps and got that TD in the playoffs against the Texans

He'll have to fight for his roster spot against a lot of youngsters but he could make it
Good reliable player

edit, didn't realise he was a FA
Ah well, bring him to camp and let him fight it out

Kris Wilson is a free agent, no longer on the roster.

I would say Taylor. He wasn't even allowed to enter the game when we had a big lead.

On offense, I would have to say Ed Dickson, everyone else on the offense has gotten tons of national attention in some point in their careers.

On defense, I would have to say Cary Williams, most people outside of Baltimore thinks Jimmy Smith was the starter last year.

Are we talking overlooked by the media? or overlooked by Ravens fans?

I think all-around, the one guy that gets overlooked more than anyone is Sam Koch. There have been too many games to count that our defense was able to hold onto a lead because of Koch burying the opposition in their own territory.

~ Malkavian Raven

Good pick, the guy is super talented and consistent.

I'll say Cary Williams - people are already writing him off as 3rd string despite having a good year, his first really playing.

Is that right? I'm sure most people outside the fanbase don't know who Cary is (they don't even know about Webb yet), but I didn't think they'd assume Smith was starting when he was out half of the season and therefore vanished off the news. Maybe it was the SD game that put his name out there as the "starter".

Defensive backs coach - Teryl Austin.

The secondary improved dramatically and all credit goes to Pagano. Austin had to have something to do with it right?
