I think I hate the Azzurri even more lol

They play this old school catenaccio style I can't watch this and the Serie A is ....

That's absolutely true. They're not flashy at all and that's a very fair criticism. It's one I put aside because of how much I love the team lol. I probably would be bored by their style if I wasn't such a fan but I am.

The truth is they are very talented but really need to get their youth involved. That's killed them in major tournaments in the past.

Why Brazil?

They have more bandwagon fans than any team I've personally ever seen or experienced. Their fans are so cocky as well. They remind me somewhat of Patriots fans.

Lol. I see, and a fair point. As to the other teams, I don't like France either, never have. And while I couldn't stand Germany before, I think they have turned it around and I really like some of the players there, and their playing style. So I'm not a hater against Germany anymore.

They definitly have some young talents in sharawy, balotelli, borini and so on, they just don't take them to the tournament, maybe they feel better playing with an average over 30 years lol

Exactly my point of view, actually like a lot of their current players, still don't like the country lol

I feel like I have to hate the Germans lol. It's like me liking the Ravens but also liking the Steelers. I won't even get into the French. I can't stand that team. My most hated team in football.

You never no idea how frustrating it is to know the youth that's there but to not see it played. It's so annoying. I want to slap them sometimes.

They do like to play old players. It's annoying. It wasn't a problem back then but now it is. We've lost our best older players and then we have the problem of not cultivating our youth.

One day they have to play the young guys, pirlo and buffon won't make it any longer and between those old guys and the new stars of sharawy and how they are called there's a big gap IMO not enough talent in between

i never liked Brazil, England or France from personal reasons more than anything; with Italy, Spain and Germany I'm at ease, but not really support per se; always a true fan of Argentina and Netherlands (well outside them playing Romania lol)

Still, it's your adopted country.  The U.K. is arguably the most desirable country to live on Earth!

UK is not a country - it's a kingdom made of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland

as far as I can recall, there was never a UK football team at senior level (outside the experiment done at the last Olympics)

England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are all represented by 1 Parliament, 1 Royal Armed Forces and 1 general geographic location.

there is a devolution of powers in the UK - where the UK parliament granted powers to the Scottish parliament, the national assembly for Wales and the Northern Ireland assembly and to their associated executive bodies - the  Scotish government, the Welsh government and the Northern Ireland executive

the Army is one, but the "general geographic location" is very diverse, thus the above split

but we're discussing "politics" on a football/soccer thread - and the four teams have always played under sepparate identies for as long as the game's history goes

I've always loved how Spain plays.

I find them quite boring actually. It's beautiful when they break through. But they are so superior when it comes to passing that they constantly control games with short passes and ball possession. I enjoy direct football much more.

i enjoy conteracting fast paced action, like utd, and Real Madrid, I hate watching Spain and Barcelona, it's great football, but passing 30 times before cutting the defence open is boring

Agree 100%. And yeah, Dortmund is probably my favorite team to watch outside Utd. They are awesome. A shame that they can't keep their players.

i wish someone would buy them, not to buy a tonne of players, but just to give them enough money that they don't have to sell every one. They aren't a rich club and they never will be if they keep selling their best players. Winning makes you rich, and they won't win when they sell their best player every year, ESP to their main rivals Edited by arnie_uk

But they always found a way to be competitive, when sahin left everybody thought they will be much worse same thing with kagawa. They got 36 million for Götze, probably another 20 for Lewandowski, I believe Klopp will buy some great players with this money, someone like Eriksen, I would prefer De Bruyne but Mourinho doesn't want to sell him

I was a little sad, but not surprised, when Des Nederlands lost to Espana in the last World Cup.  Usually root for the underdog: and besides, Holland is an awesome country!

Food for thought: all of the FIFA World Cups have been by either a European or South American country, 8 countries in total.  The U.S. hasn't medaled (bronze) since the inaugural Cup in 1930.

Neither of those facts are surprising at all. The most well-rounded teams are from those continents and the US can't play with the big boys.
