Just read it. I wasn't actually, I wouldn't normally say man u right enough. Normally just say utd but when I was talking to Americans I wasn't sure if they would know what I meant by utd so used the man u term because I know that's how they are known in usa.

All that was before my time so i never knew how it originated.

Makes sense if you are in the UK, United(as in THE United) and City.  I think one of the reasons Man U may be used more regularly in my area because the local MLS club is DC United.

I have a friend in Boston that is from Sunderland who is a bit older than I, although he still wouldn't have been around at the time closely following the Munich tragedy. I'll check in with him as well, but he also often refers to Manchester United as Man U(he's hardcore Black Cats, but not a hater,  lol). Could just be that he is speaking with me, don't know.

Go Gunners, beat City!

I've just checked the Champions League standings for the season, and we'll be having another all-Madrid final this time round.

This is one final I'd like to see.

Last one certainly didn't disappoint although I am hoping Atletico can pull it off this time

United are absolutely spineless. If LVG stays for next year....:34853_brickwall:

Spineless is a bit harsh, but I think it's apparent that van Gaal is not the ticket to return to the glory days of SAF. I miss the team that always played with flair and urgency and was never counted out until the final whistle was blown.

Harsh? Have you seem them play? How can you turn up to the biggest game of the season and be bullied like that? 20 shots for West Ham, 3 for United. West Ham!

The last three years have been a travesty. United needs to get some winners back in the team with a ruthless coach. Robson, Cantona, Keane, Scholes, Vidic and so on would never lay down like this United team does time after time. And then you have Van Gaal who's a complete buffoon on the sidelines with his pen and paper. It's ridiculous. Need a complete makeover from top to bottom, from the board down to the coach down to the players.

Don't hold back, how do you really feel?   lol

I don't disagree that there needs to be changes, but I don't think they are in quite as bad a shape as you are saying. I will say that I can't stand the vanilla, "don't get beat" mentality that LVG has brought forth.  It has ruined the creativity and passion in play. Gotta believe there will be change in manager in the next couple of weeks.

A bright spot is the young talent that continues to show up. Martial, Rashford, Fosu-Mensah, all class.

Bradley is still terrible

Touted as a playmaker but all he really does is turn the ball over.

He's like a 12th man on the field for the other team some times. That penalty doesn't happen if he doesn't turn the ball over.

Peru beat Brazil for the first time in 41 years. This is really awesome! I could not have been cheering any louder last night.

eager to see US Thursday and hoping to see some good play..

Think team is close to a consistent look with the 4-4-2...

Midfield isn't left hanging with zardes and wood both out of position playing wide

kinda worried about having to put orozco out there in place of yedlin.. hopfully central D can have another huge match and the right side doesn't get exposed

That was a hand, ref should have never allowed the goal.

Orozco is awful. Dudes were running right by him during the final 10 minutes or so of the last game. It was like he was standing still.

Pissed that Yedlin misses tomorrow's game. Deserved or not, that was the quickest double yellow ejection ever. Generally refs at that level use a little discretion in issuing the second card.

I wonder how that Peruvian guy feels about that hand ball/goal?

I watched the post game he said that everything was moving really fast and he was trying to score and he's glad the call went his way. As a Peruvian I can tell you the national feeling is that the refs are against us and we've been screwed on a lot of calls, so no one cares that we won in that fashion.

I think the 2nd one was definitely a yellow. First one maybe not.

Bradley still garbage.

Man, when he gave away the ball in front of goal I just started laughing. It's like he's due at least one horrible give away a game.
