Welbeck has all the physical attributes to be a world class player. But his inconsistent touch and terrible finishing ability will make you scream more often than not. I think he fits in well with Arsenal though, so if he puts it together and finds some kind of golden touch he will be a great great player for Arsenal.

After having learned that Liverpool has lost to West Ham United by a 3 to 1 score, I have to wonder if there is trouble at Anfield.

Their biggest problem is obvious. You can splash cash but you don't replace a player like Suarez right away.

Their back four is still suspect too.

I've noticed this while watching some of today's Merseyside Derby vs. Everton at Anfield.  Liverpool requires a lot of improvement, and it starts with recruiting players within Merseyside, I believe.

Why's that?

Well, Ed, it would probably be good for Liverpool, as Everton does so much with their recruiting and youth programmes.

True, but if Liverpool want to fully rejoin the group of top clubs in England, they've got to ensure the players they bought in the summer come good. A club like Everton has to build primarily through youth but they'll have to spend like everyone else if they want to compete with City, Chelsea and Arsenal for the top places.

I've just been checking the Champions League at the end of Group Stage, and I see that Manchester City have made the Round of 16.

Does anyone like their chances, and if so, how far do you think Man City will go?

They will probably be eliminated by Barca next round. But they can beat any team on a good day.

Great win for the US team today, but a few things I noticed. For one, Wondolowski has got to learn to keep his mouth shut. Yes, it might have been a bad call, but there was a few times were you almost got sent off. Gimme a break man.

Also, we were able to take more chances, and we played more foused in the second half. I am curious to see were Klinsmann goes with the 4-2-3-1.

In other news, that corner kick from Bradley doe.

In regard to the impending Champions League Round of 16 match-up involving Juventus and Dortmund - who do you have advancing to the quarterfinals from this one?

I welcome your responses.

A few minutes ago, I noted from the ticker that Swansea City defeated Man Utd. by a 2-1 score.

I have a friend over in Oak Ridge who backs the Swans, so he should be pleased.

So, the Champions League Final is coming up on June 6th in Munich, I believe, featuring Barcelona and Juventus.

I have no favorite in this final, and yet - it should be interesting to watch.

I welcome your comments.

I just checked the web, and it turns out the Champions League final will be in Berlin, not Munich.

The final is still next Saturday, though.

I stand corrected.

Too bad the relection wont happen for a while. Would be awesome if Qatar lost their world cup.

I take it you would like to see, say, the United States have it awarded to them.

If so, then I favor such a move.
