I'd never even entertain watching an MLS game on TV. I went to a DC United game once because I got free tickets. I'd never do it again.

I don't know what was more embarrassing, the play on the pitch or the Americans copying all the foreign clothing, chants, and traditions. For the most part, the American soccer fan is a hipster who hates sports but went to Europe one summer.

James Rodriguez for me.  I think he was the best player overall in the tournament.

Fully agreed. He was amazing in 4 out of 5 games and even though dirty tactics stifled him in the 5th, he still had Brazil trembling late in that game. .

c´mon men, excessive force, dangerous for the player, in large area, this play is penalty any time, any place

If that would have been a penalty and a red card I would have never watched football again. Was it harsh? Yes, but no foul. The only wrong decision from the ref in this particular situation, was that it was a free kick to Germany, should have been a throw in to Argentine.

Germany well deserved their Championship, they overall had the best tournament of all, and played great during that period

To me either Müller or Rodriguez were the Players of the Tournament. Messi is a freaking joke. Wasn't even the best player on his team

I disagree with that Ozz.  Messi was definitely the best player on Argentina's team, but they got through because of a rather easy schedule more than anything.

And the keeper has a right to ball, I can't believe we're even talking about this.

Messi was Argentina's best player in the group stages even though he drifted in and out of games, but I think Mascherano was more influential the rest of the way. Edited by Ed_Reed20

can't agree. Mascherano was their best player. Messi drifted out of games for too long to often.

Mascherano was better in my book and much more valuable to the team than Messi. Without Mascherano Argentina would have gotten a whole lot of goals. Messi ran 3 some kms a game, that is a disgrace. He had 2 chances a game at best. He wasn't that huge offensive weapon that everybody expected, Messi dissappeared 85 mins a game. He showed no effort and work ethic whatsoever. His teammates can tell the media what they want but I am 100% sure at least half of those players were upset by his lack of work ethic. If I were the coach he'd sit on the bench after the first time running 3k a game, I don't care if he is the so called superstar.

I always thought Messi was great and I always liked him but this WC was not one of his best tournaments

Rage end... lol

So excited! But I am already missing the first Arsenal game  :34853_shakehead:

Palace just fired Pulis 2 days before the first game, not really smart

Is there a good place to find the schedule over on this side of the pond?  I'm going to try and follow it better this year.

Can't wait. Should be a cracking year in the prem.

yea, its really just hitting me how disappointed I am in suarez leaving, and im a utd fan. Too many good players have been leaving the prem for various reasons and its disappointing to see.

Nervous for utd, think we need 2 more signings at a minimum

Dangit they're on early and I'm busy this week.  Bookmarked that schedule though, thanks.

No problem.  It does suck that many of the games are early, but thats the way it is with the time zone differences.

Fully agreed on Suarez. He's got some issues to say the least but he's one of those players that's genuinely fun to watch.

Wenger needs to sign a legit holdibg midfielder and if he's nit going to sign a striker, Sanchez and Campbell need to get time up front. Sanogo brings nothing noteworthy to the table.

He won't sign a d mid. Arteta is your captain, he will start

If he doesn't sign a DM, it won't be because of Arteta's status. Verm was the captain last season and didn't start.

Disappointing loss for Newcastle to start the season - thought a draw would have been deserved but that's football. Definitely a few positives to take away though, Cabella in particular looked nice. City look clinical though, and they'll take some stopping in the title race again.

He is a sick note but Per and Kos complinent each other better than Verm ever could. Regardless, an upgrade at DM would be a great way to close out the summer window.

Was already excited by the Welbeck signing but his game against the Swiss has me pumped. When he's actually deployed as a striker, he scores goals.

when he has to think he's awful. Read and react, one touch is ok with him. If he's played through 1 v 1 with keeper 9 times out 10 he will miss
