Agreed. Sucks that Balotelli's going to miss the game. Italy dosn't seem to have attacking options that could fully deal with Ramos and Ramos. Brazil should beat Uruguay comfortably.

It doesn't suck cause Spain was going to wax them several times over anyway. They aren't going to be able to flop their way into a 89th minute penalty like they did in 2006 group stages of the world cup.

 

This Spaniard side is as legit as they come not because of past exploits but because they are playing pretty well right now and I'd venture to say they are phenomenal on the offensive front

They looked unstoppable the other day. I think it was Nigeria they played.

 

Interestingly enough, the U20 World cup is going on. Can't wait to see what guys in the tournament will be playing with their respective senior teams next summer

It was Nigeria. Spain had spurts of amazing play but they were more impressive against Uruguay.

 

There likely won't be many current U-20 players in Brazil next summer. If they're that good, they're usually playing for the U-21s or already on the senior squad at this point.

I've never liked them. Italy & Germany are long-time rivals. I like some of the players, but I would equate Germany to the Steelers if Italy are the Ravens.

Oh, I see. I tend to root for both of them since they are both in my blood; I have to say I pull towards Germany a little more because my girlfriend is studying German and my German classes in high school were the best haha.

Man. You don't hate Germany...you loathe Germany!

 

I have always loved the German side. Always play like a well oiled machine. They always seem to have the least athletic players but still wind up a solid bunch.

 

I think the French's best days are behind them even though I was impressed with the U20 team I saw the other day, but I can't put my finger on them. They are just blah.

 

As far as European teams are concerned, Spain, Germany, and Italy will always have a shot at the World Cup. I'm not sure what clicked for Spain to all of a sudden start winning tournaments on the national level, but for all 3, they have the leagues that are the most homegrown. Stars in the Serie A are Italian, stars in the Bundesliga league are German, etc unlike the Premier league where the majority of stars are non-English

How could anyone hate Messi? He is such a joy to watch. Then again, I'm a huge Barca fan.
