Need any sort of confirmation... which message board, which source? I'm checking notable, reputable twitter accounts and see nothing

Edit: Found the tweet from "The Huddle Report" - LINK

Never heard of it before

If we can somehow get him under the cap, he'd be a nice addition for a year or two. I'd gladly give up a 3rd for him -- cap space permitting
compare osi for a third to Evans for a 4th. Maybe this is why we re done yanda. Since it was the last deal, all previous deals were already within the cap. The yanda one just gave us breathing room, but maybe it was to try and fit osi.. if this is true of course

I was browsing the Giants message boards and there's another rumor that the Dolphins offered a 2nd and a 4th. No way he comes here if that's his price.

Not sure what happens, but I bet if he has a choice he'd choose us. Maybe. Depends what he prefers - money or a third ring.

It's not what he wants, it's what the Giants want.

Yeah, my bad. Edited the post though. As I said, if he has a choice, which I think he MIGHT have, he'd choose us

Alright sooooo confused....what is with the "Osi thinks he'll be in a wheelchair" stuff?
He's just referring to the way the game is played and that he might be in a wheelchair by the time he 45. I think we all have said "Wow, Im lucky I made it past 20"...same difference

A 3rd for Osi? Then what did we draft Upshaw for? We don't need Osi since we got Upshaw who will be a rookie this year, and we have Kruger who hasn't been given a chance to show what he can do, and Kindle well we know that story. Plus a 3rd for a backup DE/OLB? Osi couldn't play well enough to keep his spot on the starting roster and got out played by JPP.

I don't want him... let's give our young guys a chance to play with Suggs injured. Let Miami waste their 2nd & 4th round picks on him and Osi will show why he lost his job to JPP in the first place, and will get lazy once Miami pays him because now that's all he wants is more money.

Okay that makes sense. Thanks!

Though...I truly hope he's wrong about that.

1 yr deal and a 3rd round pick i can live with it. a not so pricey multi year deal so he can rush opposite Suggs, i can live with it. But i don't think there's a reason to give up or pay too much for him as I think long run we have good youth and ability to play alongside a healthy Suggs...
Osi would not be a back up here, if we trade for him he will only come with a guarentee he gets a starting role. hes made it clear thats one of the reason he wants out of NY.

He just doesnt fit a 3-4 and i cant see us going 4-3 with Pees

Exactly. Miami is going to a 4-3 and Osi will most likely want to choose Miami for the fact that they play a 4-3 and because they will offer more money, and he has a better shot at starting for them then he does here. If he got out played by JPP playing 4-3 DE, what makes us think he'll out play Kruger/Kindle/Upshaw who have experience as a 3-4 OLB in his first time as a 3-4 OLB? If he can't beat out JPP, I doubt he would beat Upshaw/Kruger/Kindle for a starting job.

I would be surprised to see Osi sign with us. Not terribly upset by it at all....just really surprised.

Au contrair mon ami...I wouldNT be surprised by the move. The Ravens FO have a habit of stop gapping. I will be keeping my eye on this one. Im not terribly unhappy with this move, however, as it would give Suggs a bookend while the rooks get more time to learn.

Hasn't been confirmed, so that everyone knows...

Tweeted by a source with 500 followers, hasn't been backed up by anyone else that I can see, and is (of course) hiding behind the "RUMOR" qualification.

Yeah I went looking for a more reliable source as well. Found nothing.

I would love for us to get Osi for a 3rd, it would sort of ease a lot more pain of us losing Suggs. People say Osi is more of a fit for the 4-3 D, well, so was Mario Williams and I'm sure many other players. Ok, Osi in run support isn't that good but we can afford to sacrifice one of our players being weak against the run with the supporting cast that we have and I would sacrifice run support in a heartbeat to instantly improve the pass rush which Osi would do.

Also, Kruger, Kindle,Upshaw, etc..... none of these guys are proven. Upshaw is a rookie so its 50/50, Kruger showed glimpse of promise in a more backup, limtted role but who knows how he's going to be being a starter. If our pass rush is not clicking this season, IDC how great our secondary is, they will be picked apart, especially by your top notch QBs .

The best way to learn is get on the field. Not that the young players wouldn't play at all with Osi here (if a trade even happens), but I'd rather see them go through some growing pains and develop than play behind a probable one-year rental.
i agree with your overall point, but your arguement is awful. JPP is one of theee best DEs in the league at the minute, top 5 with Allen, Tuck, etc.. JPP could be one of the best players in the league in a few years, hes that good.

Thats not a grea arguement, thats like saying back in the day Steve young is awful and i wouldnt want him on my team because he couldnt beat out montana for years...

This is why I would be against it. If he's grumpy at the Giants for not paying him, why would that change here? We don't have much cap space and have more pressing matters than trading for and paying a pass-rush specialist - that's all he has to offer.

A one year rental is all we need b/c we have a team built to win the SB NOW! I would get what you are saying if we were a team where winning the SB this up and coming season was unlikely / a little far fetched but that's far from the case. Hell, I want to see the young guys play too but what if they don't meet expectations? Our pass rush could be the difference between us winning the SB or not.
