Ravens Extend Pollard

Pollard is better in coverage than people give him credit. He's no Ed but as Corvus Amplus pointed out he did bat down 13 passes in the regular season. Plus, I seem to remember Brady trying to beat him deep and he was there to knock the ball to Jimmy for the INT in the end zone.

Is Ed ticked that Pollard got an extension before he did????? Hmmmmm........

I hope they are at least talking with Reed about an extension.

This is my concern as well. This is exactly what Ed Reed was complaining about, lol. I seriously hope that we have a plan for Ed Reed. I really want to see a two-year extension announced for Ed as well with optional years after that. If we lock up Ed Reed now, we will have the best secondary in the league for a long time.

Ed Reed is the next one I want to hear about, then followed by Flacco.

If Ed wants an extension, he needs to hire an agent. He knows that.

Nope. He fired his agent quite a while ago and hasn't hired a new one. This is the number one reason he's still playing under his old contract. He would have been extended or restructured by now if he had representation.

I hope he hires a new agent not named Drew Rosenhaus. Like as soon as possible. Even tomorrow, lol. I didn't know he didn't have an agent. That does explain why he has no contract done yet, and it also explains why he takes things personally with the Ravens FO. It makes perfect sense.

I dont think Pollard would have played that good last year if it wasnt for Reed right next to him. They're the perfect 1-2 combo for our defense. I really hope we extend Ed, asap.

I can't agree more. They both need each other. Pollard stops the run and helps in coverage while Reed lurks in the background and waits for his opportunity. Reed is at his best when he can roam, and Pollard allows that. I get the feeling we keep Reed.

I agree with you 100 percent. Everytime the opposing team through it to the backfield i got excited for a big defensive play from one of the two. They are both equal a good combination.

I think the signing of Lardarius Webb is more important. But it is definitely a good signing!

Locking up our secondary is a good idea. Now we need to see how Jimmy Smith plays a full season with Webb because i assume he will take the starting job from Cary Williams. I think Williams should be extended too because he does provide great depth for us.
