So many irrational fans its hilarious. Acting like the season is over because we barely lost one game on the road against a very talented team. We lead the entire game despite shoddy officiating and poor execution. Its week 2 people. Things will get better.

so the patriots losing to lets face it a non contender and that gives you no hope.

off topic but i thought this was weird. pats thought they had a TD to win (sound familiar) then were sure they were going to make the FG and shanks it way left (sound familiar). they couldn't have played the end any closer to what we did in the AFCCG

Don't assume.

Let the game do the talking.

At least we ate some humble pie in Philly, we lost a tough game against a tough team who played their heart out. No Shame in losing as it is part of the game. You can't win them all. I think the Eagles' game can expose all the problem we are having. I think it's better to get beat now rather then find out what we're struggling later down the road. We still got a season to fix our issues.

There were thread like this on the Eagles board and look what happened. Only one team has won em all. The team will get back on track. The key will be if the team learns and corrects its mistakes.

Read this people. This man is correct. If we win all of our home games again this year, and beat at least a couple of the teams we're supposed to on the road (Bengals, Browns, Cheifs, Redskins?) and we should be fine.

I mean... seriously... If we were to take a loss on this schedule how else would you prefer to lose. Against a top 5 freaking defense, at their house, by ONE point! I mean, there's no loss more acceptable than that. There really isn't... I'm gone for a few days, hopefully some of us come back to our senses.

P.S. Thank you to some of the long time posters trying to keep moral and order around here.

Exactly. People expected the team that played against CLE to come out. For a while it seemed like it, but this is the home opener for a team with Super Bowl aspirations. They made the plays, they won the game.

As far as extrapolating our play to the next week, that's just silly. We are going to establish a whole new gameplan and fix what didn't work last week. I know it's hypocritical to say but NE looked weak today as well. Their OL is swiss cheese after two games. And losing Hernandez was a huge blow to them as well.

I'm with you Corvus, there's a real silver lining to this loss. I would rather we make the mistakes early on in the season, learn from them and become a better team, rather than have a ton of success early on and start to struggle later in the year when the stakes are higher. That's the Giants' formula, and it seems to work.

Lets don't make this a smack filled debate. Just make your case or ignore the post.

This Raiders offense has a chance to be one of the best offenses in the league next year. (not good to lose your best pass rusher)

The raiders will be running an offense very similiar to the texans.( stretch zone blocking system- Wco offense)

It starts up front with the oline. Only 25 sacks given up and they upgraded and this oline as it was specifically made to play in this system. LT Jared Veldheer 6'8 325( many pro bowl in his future) LG Tony Bergstrom 6'5 315 C Stephan wisniewski 6'3 315 Rg Mike Briesiel 6'5 300 Rt Khalif barnes 6'5 325 / Joe Barksdale 6'5 325

As you well know The Texans offense throws alot of passes to it Rbs and Te's. Raiders have an abundance of weapons. A very deep Rb committee .( Dmc, Taiwan Jones and Mike goodson) - Anyone of these rb's touch it whether it's a pass or run they are capable of taking it to the house from anywhere. FB Marcel reece 6'3 245 4.45 speed (a unique weapon as he really a wr playing FB) again he capable of scoring from anywhere) Now the TEs Raiders have two 6'4 265 Te's David ausberry (get him in your Fantasy football league) 4.5 speed (legitimate Wr skills) and R Gordon who has 4.63 speed more a blocker but he has the speed to threathen a secondary also. That not counting T Pryor 6'5 240 4.38 who could play some Te if he the third string Qb.

Now the fastest Wr corp in the Nfl. ( J Ford, Denarius Moore and Dhb) with the best deep passer in the game (carson Plamer) Throw in Juron Criner 6'3 220 and eddie Mcgee 6'4 220 to do the dirty work- poissessin guys / red zone threats.

There is just too many weapons on offense for a defense to handle. Stretch that Raven defense out big time. Wr's going down the field. The Oline stretching that big Ravens dline out as The Raiders Rbs can get the corner anytime they want against any defense. .
Takie away the run. Big deal they just start using those rb's and te in the passing game. The Ravens start to cheaT up the Raiders just run right past that ravens secondary.

This Raider offense no joke and has so much more weapons than the Chargers offense. You have two Te's that can threathen a secondary it not good for many 3-4 defense.. Thats not even counting rookie Derek carrier (backup probably to reece) He a 6'3 240 wr with 4.51 speed. Speed kils.

I'm sorry to have to revive this zombie thread, but...I just had to after today.

So, where was your Raiders offense today?

10-6.
Split with the Steelers ...
Beat the Bengals ...
Split with the hardest homestand ever, Broncos and Giants ...
Split with the remaining 2 road games, Chargers and Redskins ...

4-3 or 3-4 give or take ... just for safe measure, I'm go with the later. 10-6

That sounds about right but I can see the Ravens winning both games against the Chargers and Redskins.

Come back next week. If our offense shows that it can come up big on the road too, then the only games that really worry me are Pitt at home, and Denver at home. If the offense is flat, then SD, Wash, and Cinci are all called into question, too.

So optimistically 12-4, pessimistically 9-7.
