Predict Our Record

216 posts in this topic

If anyone wants to look at it this way: Well, at least the Ravens fought the Eagles in an old school, sloppy battle. No team had any advantages in this game and the refs wanted things to go their way.

As for the Patriots/Cardinals game, New England looks like a complete mess. Arizona has Kevin Kolb as a QB and, once again, they struggled to score. The Cardinals were so bad on offense Larry Fitzgerald had a mere one catch for four yards.

But, for the Patriots? Aaron Hernandez is gone. That is a MAJOR loss. Call me crazy, but I would take Hernandez over Rob Gronkowski, any day. Hernandez is more versatile and offers more to the Patriots, whether it's as a tight end, slot wide receiver, blocker, or even a big running back. Also, Tom Brady looked lost out there.

I could go on-and-on, but the point is: The Pats look VERY beatable. If one was a fan of the Pats, he/she should be worried where their team goes from there. It's one thing to lose to the Eagles. But, it's a whole, other story when one loses to a team QB'd by Kevin Kolb...

Belicheck knows how to make adjustmists and fix mistakes. Ravens lost 3 trap games last year too the same [profanity deleted], the San Diego game was just lost.

It's a whole, lot worse when you have a high-scoring team that loses to such a team. The Patriots play in a pass-first offense that usually comes out of the shotgun. Plus, they have Tom Brady, a slot receiver in Wes Welker, the biggest/largest target in Rob Gronkowski, a deep threat in Brandon Lloyd, an overall threat in Aaron Hernandez, an offensive line that has produced many Pro Bowlers, and quick/fast running back in Stevan Ridley.

Scoring a mere nine points through 3 quarters is just inexcusable and pathetic, especially to the Cards...
I dont know if you heard but Hernandez has a sprained ankle and could be out for up to six weeks and the Pats are trying to replace Welker. They're not as stacked as you think.

Im pretty sure it was 07 but if it was 08 then Flacco was a Rookie and we were in the redzone and Clayton dropped the ball because he took his eyes off it before he caught it. Turn over on downs game over.

Thank you come again.

I mentioned it in the post before that one that Hernandez was injured. But, I was referring to the gameplan, going into the game.

And Wes Welker isn't going anywhere. Not with Aaron Hernandez hurt. I'm pretty sure the Patriots aren't an organization that is going to get rid of a player who doesn't speak against the team and is willing to do anything to help the team. Seeing how they depleted their entire wide receiver crops on cut day, they are very bare bones when it comes to receiving options.

Point in case, New England NEEDS Welker, at the moment. The guy is probably one of the hardest-working athletes in the NFL. He is a running back who plays wide receiver. You put the football in his hands and he will move the chains, catching the hardest-of-hardest passes thrown into coverage. Also, seeing how Welker and Hernandez are the safest choices to catch the football, who else would they use?

Brandon Lloyd is too one-dimensional to be reduced to the slot. Gronkowski more-than-likely benefits from the likes of Welker and Hernandez to get open like he does, seeing how speed isn't his strength. Oh, and as for Julian Edelman, the Pats have already tried making him the next Wes Welker. It didn't work before and it won't work again. He lacks the toughness that Welker has.

Basically, the worse nightmare for the Patriots is becoming true: Lack of depth at the skill positions. Only five receivers (or four, seeing how Matthew Slater only has one career catch in the NFL), three tight ends that actually suit-up (and Daniel Fells is used for blocking schemes) and merely using only Stevan Ridley and Danny Woodhead in the backfield (although, Woodhead isn't used as a runner that often). So, I agree with you there.

Im 100 percent positive the RAVENS are going to treat this game like they did against the Stealers week 1 last season.

Same mindset, the RAVENS know that the Pats got away with one and i will bet any amount of money any RAVEN that is playing in that game that played in the AFC CHAMP. last season has the feeling of REDEMPTION and Complete DOMINATION.

Mark my words.

They just recently traded away to get Greg Salas who was a very productive Slot receiver at Hawaii. Trust me they're going to try and replace him. They just don't want to have to break the bank on a slot receiver.

So, are you saying that it wouldn't surprise you if the Patriots do away with Wes Welker and trade him before the deadline, like what they did with Randy Moss, two years ago? Interesting theory...

I hate to bring back threads from the graveyard, but I wanted to keep this relevant to see how well we predict the season, so to speak. So far, I am 100% right. Hopefully the rest of my prediction comes true! I'd love to go 14-2, lol. I'm a little nervous about the first Steelers game, though.

This is another fun thread. That topic's been answered as of today.

NE just lost at home to ARIZONA and are likley without Hernandez who is probably their most important playmaker on offense. They arent perfect. I still think we win 11-12 games and take the division like I predicted from the start.

I was always sold on the Ravens record being either 10-6 or 11-5, earning a hard fought division crown over the Steelers, who would also make the playoffs as a wild card team. The reason for this record is because of the extremely difficult schedule Baltimore has.

Not changing it, though. A prediction is a prediction. It is something one guesses and then let's whatever do the talking. This isn't musical chairs, you know...

If we play like this, we'd be lucky to finish 8-8. If we play like we did against the Bengals, we're hard to beat.

You just never know.

i'm still going with 12-4 as i had with losses against the steelers once, texans, and chargers. thank god our schedule is easier while suggs is out. we should be in good position if we're 8-2 going into the steelers game.

I remember that. Just another wonderful moment in the Pats-Ravens rivalry. Why don't you throw that in with the Lee Evans drop and Cundiff going wide left, make a highlight reel.

At least it's at home. Maybe the refs will be less likely to give the Pats the game this time. It's happened at least twice.

That was 07 - that was our miserable 5-11 season where we stuffed Brady at the line but apparently Rex had called a timeout. We were about to end the Pats' perfect season right then and there, and we were about to do it with Kyle Boller. 09 was the Clayton drop game in the regular season and the Ray Rice Show in the postseason. I think the only other time we've played them since was the playoffs last year.
