Not sure but that's what the article said. It looks like stuff is really about to hit the fan in the NFL with all these people coming out of the woodwork with lawsuits.

Ok nevermind on that last post. Apparently NFL players do this to save the brain so it can be scanned for CTE. Supposedly a trauma induced disease. http://www.boston.co...t_junior_s.html

Goodell and the NFL are going to get sued off this planet if this related to trauma and brain damage from concussions

Eerily reminiscent to Steve McNair. Sorry to bring that up but that's almost instantly what my mind went to, we'll wait for all the facts to come out. RIP Seau.

I'm not following football that long, just a few years and don't realy remember him playing
I do remember he had a TV series for one season on various sports and activities. Was a natural on TV, very confident

Very sad, RIP

Such horrible news. What are these players really going through, the medical issues I mean...both on the surface and the deep rooted issues?

It's crazy how a lifelong dream of playing football can take such a toll on your body and mind that it leads to this. RIP Junior.

Very sad. He was a great LB, but he was also a great guy off the field. RIP Junior Seau. Lord have mercy.

It just seems extremely similar to the Duerson incident.

Reminds me of McKinley's suicide (former Bronco's wr who committed suicide at just 23). Watched an interesting piece on how there's a pattern of severe depression/suicide for football players and pro wrestlers due to the excessive damage done to the brain. If the brain scan shows what I think it will, we may have a serious issue on our hands regarding player safety/brain damage.

RIP Junior

The media is linking it to football. Why can't it be linked to football?
well because he was having trouble with his ex wife, recently arrested for assulting her, couple years ago, then "fell asleep" at the wheel after leaving the police station and drove off a cliff...

It could have been for other reasons, just dont assume it because of football is my point.. no one will ever truly know

He was a fantastic player, probably 2 years from HOF, 12 time pro bowler but I don't sign off on spousal abuse or suicide for any reason. Being a great player in the past doesn't excuse you to actions in the future.
Well we may know in the near future when they do scan his brain to check for football related injuries.
