How do you drop back 10 yards especially into the endzone?

Ask Detroit's QB Dan Orlovsky the same thing, when he literally gave the other team a safety by dropping back too far in the endzone and went past the thick, solid white line.

Well them lining up in a shotgun for a 3rd and 7 didn't help the cause.

I think Oakland lining up in a shotgun for the majority of their snaps thus far isn't helping the cause, period.

Not only is that essentially putting the game on JaMarcus Russell's shoulders instead of on the ground attack (think about it: everyone knows you're passing out of the shotgun 85% of the time), it's also pushing him farther back on his side of the field if he drops back more AFTER he's already 5 yards behind center before the snap.

It's basically setting up those big losses we've already seen the defense get so far.

Jameel McClain is really making a case to take more snaps this season...

To be honest, if he and Antwan Barnes play well enough, Bart Scott might be the odd man out in LB contract negotiations this offseason.

But, that's a different discussion for a different day.
